great news about Weber! - DoubleDown
He's in Wisconsin meeting with a specialist as we speak |

Brodin and Dumba are 25-26 y/o. they are not replacement parts acquired in a panic move. they'd be the core of Habs defense for many years to come.
I get Habs would have to give futures. can we see what the cost would be before saying no? - fidopro
It's all speculation...but are you willing to deal a combo of picks, Caufield, Suzuki and Romonov? If I'm Minnesota that's what I'm asking for. |

Why are we trading our only decent kids?
at this point, Habs should only be trading the vets/old wood/4th liners |

Never said to but dead wood and 4th liners won't get you much..... you package up sh!t, you get a turd in return |

Domi might be the key piece here if this was a move deemed necessary...if Minni is dumping those two it also leads to questions of why |

no need to package at this point. Clean the house, reset during the summer |

I mostly agree with this but was asked what it would cost...my point was hiw prohibitive the cost would be in futures and how it doesn't make sense for the Habs...me thinks tdl gonna be a snore this year |

I agree sir.... tough decisions need to be made, we'll see if Bergy will do it, I have my doubts |

not all 3 obviously, but what if only 1 is needed? not Suzuki, not Romanov.
how about kk (since they want a center), Brook, Mete, a few picks... or Domi... to fix our dcore for years.

Kotkaniemi should not be part of any trade talks right now... they haven't really fixed the top line C problem, I'm not down for trading a 19 year old who could be part of the solution soon |

Selling low on KK? Not a chance for me. Mete, Domi and some 2nds for one of them? Maybe they take that. Not sure I'd want to do that. Not sure Brodin or Dumba change the Habs fortunes as much as building for the future would. The Habs don't become contenders by trading for them in my eyes |

The Habs are a mess, regardless of what happens with Weber. Don't see rebuilding on the fly with trades as changing that but I'd be happy to be wrong |

At 25 and signed for 3 more years, Dumba is a move for now and future.... still not sure I'd be willing to cough up the assets necessary to get it done though |

If anything I'd find it easier to digest if they flipped Poehling but not Kotkaniemi... and even then, the return would have to be really good |
