All for taking them down a peg, especially once they miss the playoffs again

But it’s a good comparison I think. Both Drai and Malkin would be 1C on most every other team, they’re just blessed to be stuck behind generational players.

Toronto missing the playoffs would be even better.

No...but credit where it's due. He's been off the McDavid line for 26 games now and is still leading the league...just funny how many said he'd be a nobody without McDavid when he signed that contract, which now looks like a bargain lol

He’s got a legit shot at hart if he puts them in the wildcard.

hes also been with McDavid for 30 games this season, and their PP is number 1 in the league, of which he has 37 of his 89 points from.

Leon is a hell of a player, but he is still the beneficiary of playing with the best player in the game this year.

Kassian surpasses his most points in a season in only 46 games this year, and its not as though he suddenly became a good offensive player lol. He was playing with McDavid. Its the effect he has on his linemates.

Agreed for the most part...but again Kassian also 'earned' his way on to the Mcdavid line while producing off it. As does Draisaitl. Now no one is saying they don't benefit by playing with the best player in the world as most would...but also they deserve a little credit for what they accomplished on their own as well.

Agreed. And also someone did say at years start that Draisaitl would contend for the Hart...

Good article, and this copy and paste is for the people that scoff at the following saying...if NHL coaches and players preach and believe so do I.

The Blue Jackets embodied a mantra that Miller's former coach in New York, Alain Vigneault, used to swear by: Just get into the playoffs, and anything can happen. It's wisdom that Miller has imparted to his new teammates.

"Something I've been preaching to this team is that we need to play well enough to get into the playoffs. Don't stress too much. Just try to get in. Anything happens when you get there," he said.

Exactly, and that is what Miller was referencing.

This version of the Canucks 67pts, are leading the division today, if they lose tonight there is a possibility that they could be outside of the playoffs by their next game on Sunday.

Calgary at 64pts has 3 games before Sunday.
Edmonton 66pts, 2 games before Sunday
Arizona 64pts, 2 games before Sunday
Vegas 64pts, 2 games before Sunday

Was thinking more about Calgary last time Canucks made the playoffs. Oh man, how great would it be to face the flames in round 1 with a healthy Ferland!
