I would take Boston over Tampa though. - Peter Richards
Hmm..Not sure I can agree with that though neither would be fun to face.
I just feel the Bruins are a heavier , playoff built team that has leadership everywhere.
The Bolts might have more overall talent and will probably be very determined after last years early exit..
I just know the Bruins have proven they can do it so until Tampa does I would still take the Bruins over them.

I see that Clutterbuck is injured and will not be playing tonight. I'm glad he's not playing because for some reason, he always seems to give the Flyers fits on the ice. I will be at the game tonight in NY, so I'm hoping the Flyers beat the snot out of the Islanders? |

There's no reason for this team to do squat at the deadline. You've put yourself in a wildcard position to this day with what you got now so just roll with it.
There isn't a move to be made to put you in contention and you obviously won't be selling.
Reevaluate at the end of the season. |

He's playing for the Rangers. He's got Wade Redden syndrome. |

If they can upgrade the 3C/4C spots without giving up much (4th rounder or later, no top-end prospects), I'd do it. But no big time moves for rentals, I would agree with that. |

I get that argument. But you could still tweak the 4C un house. |

The main thing I dont want to see is a Frost, Farabee, Sanheim or Myers being moved for a vet that may get them to the second round this year.
While it's a million times better watching this current lineup, I don't think they are in the spot yet to trade the future for the present. |

They've been trying. Bunny, Rubstov, Raffl, and Vorobyov have all has shots, and the rookie Bunnamann has looked best so far. He's been good enough to not be a liability, but getting someone more proven, even for depth purposes, wouldn't be a bad idea if you can do it on the cheap. |

This won't happen. I want to say zero chance, but you never know. But Fletcher would have started that since he took over. |

How has this team been succeeding without all of the #grit we lost from trading Simmonds and Gudas plus the Stewart waive?
Also, if RoR can get drunk, drive his car into a Tim Hortons, leave the scene of the accident, and win the Conn Smythe Trophy a few years later, I don't see why a slightly coked up Richie can't do the same. |

Mike Richards turns 35 today. He hasn't played a single professional game in four years. Even at age 31, he was a shell of what he once was. Even if he's in a good space in his personal life nowadays and in good physical shape relative to the average 35-year-old, he most certainly isn't doing NHL-like game-ready skating and conditioning let alone keeping up his skills.

JVR has been our grit guy!
You have a valid point with RoR and Richards
Man if we signed Richards it all but guarantees Chucky trades for Carter 50% retained. |

Had no clue today was his bday. But sorry if my post was taken seriously. I was only kidding with signing Richards; slow work day.
He did a podcast with Spittin Chiclets recently, seems he's in a good space and living happy |

I wouldn't say he's been "very bad", I just don't think he's a true No. 1 defenseman who ought to be playing the hardest minutes in the toughest matchups against every team's top line while also carrying a significant offensive burden at the same time.
Trouba is a good player. Not great, but good. Slot him ideally in the right matchups, and he'd be highly effective all-around. |

I still field inquiries about whether I think it's realistic that he could come back; fewer and fewer each year, but still the ocassional one. My answer is always, "For an alumni game? Absolutely. For the NHL? No way." |

Could he make his way back to the AHL?
I guess my only reason would be: If Chris Stewart can do it, why not Richards? |

@ guy mentioning Hoffman. Florida is looking to deal him but they are looking for a hockey trade. A roster winger for roster D. |
