It's a trade that was done to repair a big error made 16months before.
Can't believe you actually give credit to Dubas to wait so long to do something about the backup goalie issue.
(instead of keeping McSavey - Leafs had to give up a load of assets as well to eventually get a guy that is similar to the goalie they already had, but was considered 'too old'). - MaximusAurelius
Hindsight is this year, but Sparks deserved the chance.. It failed, and we paid for it, but he deserved the chance..

Ah come on man
Sparks just won the AHL goalie of the year award and was fresh off an AHL title win.
He was due and was younger than McBackup
Sparks failed miserably at the back up roll and could not hang on to it.

Doing my CPR and first aid retraining. Some douchebag in back of the room feels he needs to demonstrate his superior knowledge by loudly agreeing with everything instructor says and interjecting his own facts. I’m about to drill him in his (frank)ing head so hard he goes into cardiac arrest and needs CPR and first aid. - Atomic Wedgie

He brought his franking laptop. - Atomic Wedgie
It's worse when a Director is in a meeting, constantly feels the need to interject when she knows absolutely zero about the subject... and then is promoted to VP a couple months later.

Or
Kap,Barrie,Bracco
For
Parayko
If STL wants to sign Petro they probably look to trade a D and their RS is loaded with 3 top 4 D.
They can shelter Barrie is D situations given their RS is the best in the league. - Santo_44
Bracco, they new 3rd toss in.
Stl will be going for a cup run again this year, or at least trying to.
I doubt their gonna trade a great dman for kap, and a soft dman in barrie.
I mean, great if they did.

Usually what happens to expendable players who have value.
And yeah you didn’t listen to a thing I said. They can afford to have a guy like Barrie because they can limit his defensive situation mins and reap the huge upside he provides offensively.
With question marks around Tarasenko they have been on the lookout for a forward.
Kap gives them a long term option that also fixes a short term need. And is much cheaper so they can afford a Petro re signing.
I could see them re-signing Clifford, if they qualify for the playoffs. I don't think Clifford was a 'throw-in' he brings something we don't have..
I'd guess a 2 yr deal for $3.5M - PatC80
Boy, I hope not. I like the early returns on him and the physical play (which we otherwise lack), but that puts him near the top end of what are you doing here (?) Money. Forwards who make between 1-2 million should be avoided. They make less than a useful producer, and 2-3x league minimum. I'd rather take two guys who are physical for 800k apiece.

Why are people shocked that Kovalchuk is good? He left for 6 seasons and is still 4th in goals among active players. He's not some scrub...he's Ilya Kovalchuk. Did these people just start watching hockey?
Dermott here is a head scratcher. i cant see how he is overall #2 on the leafs in overall contributions.
then i look at Ceci and it does make sense.
Also, spezza ...what a nice little add
Mickey is missed, he was a good positive driver...I was wrong early on about him
- senstroll
also - i feel like a lot of these GAR or total value measures understate star player impacts. partially because these guys consistently out-perform expected goals.
Matthews is carrying the team on his back this year.

Get someone to video it. It could be right up there with Angelo Mosca vs. Joe Kapp.

Have we blown (4) 3rd period leads in a row?
I think we've blown (4) 3rd period leads in a row - BestRapperAlive
It sucks I know. Hopefully Leafs figure out how to shoot the (frank)en puck again. Hate to pick on Marner - he's been so effective on the PK, but if he would rather eat poison than shoot the (frank)en puck at the net, maybe time to give some else a shot at the power play that is willing to shoot. I counted five clean looks (in the Habs game) in the slot by Marner, where he chose to pass it either into the corner or to the side of the net when he had a clean look at a shot from the slot.
