"Advanced" stats. are never wrong, when they support your narrative. When they belie your narrative, your sample size is too small.

If you call something by a name, it becomes that thing. So when players fire the puck towards the opposing goal from all over the ice, they are driving possession.

Brought this over from last thread because Lucas seem to interupt it lol. Was reading yesterday that because of the big diff between east and west. It might be possible this year that 15 and 16 overall in the league might not make it but 17 and 18 might.

With the Leafs ability to scout and sign overseas players, the pick(s) they gave up don't hurt as much. Dubas did well there it seems. I am not sure the team will have any real use for Kyle Clifford.

Mathews is D bomb. Everyone was droolin over Pasternak at the first of the year and then for the last month at Ovechkin. Heres Matthews who just plugs along as a center, not a (frank)ing winger and alot of time early on people were Meh. Matthews is a Leaf ball lickers....

I could see them re-signing Clifford, if they qualify for the playoffs. I don't think Clifford was a 'throw-in' he brings something we don't have..

I'd guess a 2 yr deal for $3.5M
