Once again the Hawks cant compete because of lack of size and speed. Yes there were a few questionable calls in this game. But you cant use bad officiating as an excuse game after game. You simply must play better

I’ve been saying for years now that Kane is the problem with the PP, and I’m still convinced it’s true.
Everyone on the ice defers to him, and this causes everyone else to stop moving. They have the least movement on the PP of just about any team I’ve ever seen. Pass to Kane and wait for him do something magical...that, apparently is the strategy. - Ogilthorpe2
Everything about the PP is predictable, from the entries, to Kane on the right half-board, to the cross-ice thru enemy sticks to AdB - no movement, no variation, Jets in position to stop every predictable play the Hawks tried.

Yeah I’m not going to Blame the refs. That gets old game in and game out.
Their PP was/is dog poop. They can’t generate anything on their end and give up chances after chances.
Can’t blow a 2 goal lead on the road. They got it taken to them from the 2nd on and they are continually masked by great goaltending hiding their average play.
I remember a few years ago when the PP was so bad that we would rather have declined the penalty and with that no an option we would hope the Hawks would just play prevent defense when they had the man advantage. The PP in this game was as bad as it was back then - maybe worse.
The zone entry play doesn't work because to other guys know what's coming and intercept the drop pass from Toews to the point guy. DeBrincat's only reason for being on the PP is to score on one-timers which he can't seem to do anymore. Other than that he bobbles passes and gets hung up on the wall which all too often results in a bad pass or turnover or both. The PP that gave up the shortie tonight turned the game around and they lose the game because of it.
On a side note, I don't see Crawford wanting to come back next season. He's got to be fed up with the defense hanging him out to dry for the past few seasons. - DarthKane

You mean the "Stan sucks", "McD the Meddler", "Toews sucks", "Hawks suck", "First round out" convos that permeated the threads when you were frequenting.

This game was not even competitive after the fist period, Jets walked the Hawks. Goalie had nothing to do with it. - kwolf68
This is another Colliton loss !! A team that plays only 20 minutes a game of intense hockey will lose close games. Way too soft again with the lead......Colliton's M.O.
I've had it with another failed playoff run by this genius coach with zero experience. He's had almost 2 full years to get this team in gear now and yet they scramble again, no better than last year.
This team made huge improvements in the off season in goaltending, defensemen, 3rd and 4th line free agents, and the PK. Also rookies Dach, Boqvist, and Kubalik. Where's the problem ?
This team should be at least 10pts better than they are.
What's the plan for next year Blackhawks because Colliton is failing miserably.

Haha. No. No. No.
The PP runs through Kane as it should. The issue is the damn drop back enter which leaves 3 of the remaining 4 guys flat footed trying to enter the zone. That’s the problem. Kane has to dance through 1-2 guys circle back and set it up.
The hawks also have a very limited amount of above average offensive d men on the point.
I don’t understand how many damn times we are going to watch 56 misplay a 2 on 1 before something is done but it’s beyond old. He may be the worst defensemen I have ever seen. Ever. He’s pure dog poop.
The lack of quality chances on the PP is obvious. Why can't they tweak the personnel a little bit. Start with sitting 12 on the 1st unit . Maybe Saad or Kubalik could help out there. It can't hurt.

Its been this way for the last year or so. Place got overrun by zealots who do not want different opinions. We are all Hawks fans but some believe that significat change is needed and not buying this illusion of bubble playoff team.
Unfortunately so is Hawks subreddit. I got downvoted to oblivion there recently by suggesting Toews does not deserve to be on top 100 NHL players list (I have his jersey but will repeat here he is not top 100 player of all time). I also like Tampa but was downvoted to smitherins on their forum in 2016 by suggesting Stamkos as well as Tavares are not first tier stars like Kane, Toews Crossby and Ovechkin and do not deserve their money in contract negotiations.
So by simple math associative property their respective fan bases would make you believe Stamkos and Tavares are 100 top players of all times:-). Tell it to Toronto fan now.

It was bad when we were good, explained. - rpeters01
Not this bad. They have a enough talent to be at least fair to middling with the man advantage.
This road trip will define the season & make decisions easy as the TDL approaches
Tonight was the start that will spell clarity
Not a bad thing IMO - Colbyboy
Defined only because it's been ildefined I don't know how to spell it, so far..

Hawks won 3 cups without a good PP. PK was more than good during those runs.
Happy to see the PK make a massive jump this year again, but the Cat has been an issue all season on the PP. Just not getting it done. That shorty is on him alone. How many times has he missed one timers this sesson as well? Contractitus.

Power plays don’t win championships, penalty killing does and the hawks PK has improved immeasurably this season. The hawks need to get Gus off the powerplay, the shorthanded goal killed them tonight and while the ADB giveaway was the main reason for the goal, this was about the fifth time I’ve seen Gus not take the cross ice pass away and in each case he falls to the ice compounding his mistake by taking himself right out of the play.
