Oh this makes complete sense.
Quite the explanation đ
While youâre at it can you explain to me how the Islanders will find a way to get rid of Komarov next season? - Cptmjl
Your'e really dumb, aren't you.
Have you heard of buyouts? Retaining salary? Adding incentive in deals? Are you able to see anything that isn't black and white? |

The usual mindless just âbuy him outâ nonsense like teams can just buy out players at will. They already still have Girardiâs buyout theyâre dealing with for the next four seasons at 3.6 million. Buying out Staal will save them somewhere around 2.6 million. Do they just buyout everyone else they donât want so they can sign Kreider, ADA, and Strome? Maybe Kreider will take a hometown discount and sign for 3 million per? đ
Yeah thatâs fairy tale land. Just buy everyone out you donât want anymore. Easy fixđđđ

Staal and Smith are entering the last year of their contract. Whomever they bought out would be on the hook for that year and next. Again, you're missing nuance of other options they could choose to move them off the book.
You're honestly the dumbest person I've ever spoken to on here and there are some doozies on here. |

I just donât get the hype over Kreider. Depending on where we goes, I donât see him being THAT big of a difference maker. I miss the days when a Rick Nash/game breaker was made available. I pity the team that probably overpays for him, & then again for the team that overpays for him in free agency - Gsyms17
Out of all the options you chose to use Rick Nash....Nash....Rick? Game breaker? |

Wtf does this even mean? Theyâre in their 2nd to last year you literally make zero sense. Theyâre both signed till 2021 with a combine 10,250,000.00 cap hitđđđđ
Then go onto the old theyâll just get rid of them mantra without demonstrating how the hell theyâll do that? Youâre a total clown thanks for clearly presenting how wrong you are.
Please hit up Gorton to give him options like;
âYouâll just able to do itâ
âDonât worry about two players with a combined cap hit of over 10 million that are signed till 2021 you can just buy them out then you can sign Kreider, Strome, and ADA.â
Total clown. Just admit youâre wrong and move on.

Youâre such a joke agreeing with a poster that states falsehoods about the team youâre supposedly a fan of. Shows you just how much of an uninformed fan of your own team you are. You want to learn anything about the Rangers let me know đ¤

Bob, chiefs gave a nice example here which I pointed out with the bold. Also, Staal and Smith are signed till 2021. If you would like to know anything else please donât hesitate to reach out. Thanks. |

First off, if it's within the rules to buy out more people the money hardly matters to the Rangers. Secondly, they are already paying Kreider $ 4.625m so we are really dealing with the spread from there to whatever he's willing to sign for. Third, they will definitely clear up some space if they decide not to carry three goalies. Not a lot but it would help.
You never know what teams are willing to do to sign a player they want. Nashville moved PK Subban to sign Douchene. They can use a draft pick to move someone out. You just can't bank on the cap stopping people. Toronto signed Marner for almost $11M when they had limited space. Sure they now have $20M on LTIR but that's the insanity in a cap world.
Rangers are going to resign Kreider if they want to and the salary demands aren't too crazy. They aren't going to pass because of cap concerns. Not to mention they have almost $3M in cap space right now. |

Yeah of course to all of this but the numbers donât work for the reasons I stated. If the Rangers could keep all of the players I mentioned and Kreider this wouldnât be a debate right now would it? Now as you said they could not resign who I mentioned and sign kreider which I stated I believe would be a mistake. Thatâs opinion based everything else I stated is fact.
As far as the bold goes if theyâre forced to make a decision between signing ADA and Strome or Kreider and decided to go with the former that decision would be made because of cap concerns. Just about every contract that is signed or not signed in todayâs NHL is done with concern to the cap to say differently is completely nutsđ
Could an option present itself? Sure. But to just assume it will is laughable. |

No, I agree the cap is taken into account in all of these transactions. But should the Rangers decide they want to sign any or all of the players they can look to create options. They could package Staal with some picks and move him to a team with cap space if they wanted. Bad contracts get moved all the time. It's not that complicated. |
