It's honestly strange. Scott and Comcast were known to want instant results and expected us to be a playoff team, as well as a winning playoff team. Yet they can't seem to recognize our PP could be a leading cause for missing the playoffs.

Don't worry, it's only a matter of time before Fletcher throws away most of our top young assets/picks for veteran quick-fixes. It will happen to salvage last season. Or if not, he'll do it this past offseason. Or if not, it will happen this season. Or if not, it will happen this offseason.

It's coming, just keep waiting and he'll do it immediately.

As bad as he’s placing we have no one to replace him, he’s instrumental in the face off circle , he’s been good defend, and he’s a big part of the locker room and as bill aluded to setting the tone for the coaching staff. I highly doubt it’s a 9 month recovery if there even is a surgery necessary.
- ClaudeFather

Does this mean that you're finally willing to admit that he has not been playing well offensively this season?

Dave Scott is too in love with his "gold plated coaching staff" to realize that Therrien is terrible.

https://www.inquirer.com/...improvement-20200131.html

Maybe he'll get a clue when the Flyers broken PP causes the team to miss the playoffs.

- Feanor

How often does a team change an assistant coach in season? If it was to happen it would be Vigneault's call, not Scott's.

General Question: How do you watch these games?
Curl into a foetal ball? Pick up the soft puck and rattle your TV screen?

I have a technique. F'rinstance, last night I turned the game on an hour late. I can because I record all of the games on my Direct Box. It has the advantage of a 30 second skip. Three or four 'blips' and all of the romance of advertisements pass without causing me to entertain a purchase. I race through most of the intermissions. I catch up on the game around the end of the second or beginning of the third period.

Then I settle in for the nail biting.

When the games start like this, especially against the Dweebs, I watch at an accelerated rate. Am I going to watch major disappointments for 2 1/2 hours?
NOOOOO!

Last nights game total viewing time was about 3/4 hour of unmitigated misery and I watched more entertaining items (custom car shows, Antique Roadshow, NetFlix delights), ones that didn't arouse ire or thoughts of self termination.

My thinking leads me to believe I am not here to be a consumer of crap, that sports are supposed to relieve (bad) tension, that remote controls are wonderful and that nobody can make me participate in self flagellation.

Now G-D it! GO FLYERS!!! (Please?)

They weren't good or lucky last night.

It happens. It's never a good time for it but they have no choice but to move forward, and I think they will

I use my eyeballs to gather the photons from my screen. The photons are then transmitted into my brain which gets turned into an image in my mind.

I thought most people did it this way.

So......at Washington tomorrow. Have to remember that this is a real possibility for a first round playoff matchup. Flyers need to play it like it’s a playoff game.
- NC Flyers Fan

They should be playing all their games like it's a playoff game. Including last night.

They have to create their own luck. I don't see any of these bubble teams faltering.

What game? They get 2 a year that I do a memory purge after viewing.

PS. if anyone was counting, they are used up

Farabee not practicing again, and certainly won't play tomorrow.

I think the plan has to be get Andreoff on the ice against Ovechkin the entire game. That is the formula.

Tough loss, still 28 games to go. Lots of time for myriad outcomes. And if not this season, we go again next season.

Let's go, Flyers!

Giroux moved back to wing. Logically Frost would be called up to play C.

Not like we’re in a playoff race or anything
- SuperSchennBros

we are in a playoff race so lose one game and the sky is falling. Got it. A loss is a loss. you don't lose extra points for it being an ugly game. They just need to bounce back like they have pretty much every time this season after a bad game

The issue with last night's game is not only that they lost to an inferior opponent. That can happen in the NHL. The main issue is that they didn't show up. Also that not one player stepped up in leadership in the game to push the team.

It is not possible to extend Giroux this summer.
- MJL

Thank you. I was hoping someone would mention that. Must be in last year of contract to extend.

Yeah, we lost one game against a bad division rival, while our other two rivals won and hold the last two wild card spots. Our PP isn’t clicking. Our stars aren’t showing up. It only takes one loss to keep a team out of the playoffs. If we don’t make the playoffs and you feel the same way in April, we can definitely revisit this conversation.

Shayne Gostisbehere may have just gotten hurt. Full windup and threw his stick over the glass then walked off.

It's either a skate issue, or he was just traded.

We didn’t show up in Detroit either. Shorthanded goals are Pleasant surprises, never apart of the plan. Empty netters are not impressive. You take those two lucky breaks away and it’s a 1-0 game we sleepwalked through.

So Ghost threw his stick over the glass and stormed off the ice and it's one of 4 things...

1. Hurt
2. Skate issue
3. Frustrated
4. Traded

HAHAHAHAHA.... That's not reporting that's just mindless gossip.
