The fans criticizing the Flyers are offering reasons for their frustration. The fans saying “it’s just one loss” as our rivals also in the playoff race win, aren’t offering anything. - SuperSchennBros
The fans constantly criticizing even when they win just seem to like to complain while the fans that are neutral try to apply logic.
It goes both ways.
Reality or the correct answer, like it always is, can most likely be found between those two approaches. |

The Power Play isn’t clicking. Claude Giroux and James van Riemsdyk are paid handsomely to produce results. We’re on the outside of the playoffs looking in. It’s not a matter of enjoying complaining. It’s common sense. Like, how do you do it? Just ignore what’s the results of what’s right in front of you? You literally posted another response that offers nothing... |

McDavid and Drasaitl have nothing to do with the Flyers, Blue Jackets or this debate. Giroux is two seasons removed from a 102 point season. So when you ask if we have a Connor McDavid, the answer should be simple. We have Claude Giroux and he’s been a no show. - SuperSchennBros
How do they have nothing to do with the Flyers when you flat out said "the Jackets dont have Giroux ect" It has everything to do with it. Drasaitl and McDavid are higher talent than anyone one the Flyers. Given your logic Edmonton should be better. My point is they arent because its a team game and the name on the back of the jersey doesnt matter at the end of the day because teams like the Islanders dont have Star power and are still top teams in the league. |

No, McDavid doesn’t have anything to do with the conversation between the Flyers and jackets.
The point is, the Blue Jackets are working with less and getting better results than the Flyers. |

Which is my point the Oilers are working with more than what the Flyers got and arent doing as well which is your exact argument between the Flyers and Jackets........ Jackets have a good team, it isnt about the name power. |

Once again, oilers have nothing to do with our division. I don’t care about your point because the point that you’re making is invalid. We’re not up against the oilers. |

Yes because that would be admitting you are wrong. It doesnt matter what YOU care about.
YOU said CBJ is not good because they dont have the star power. I said it doesnt matter because a team like Edmonton has better star player. The point has nothing to do with the division. If it will make you happy, the Flyers have more star power than the Islander and the Islanders ARE better. Washington has more star power than us and we have beaten them. You are wrong and no amout of loop hole bullsh*t is going to change that.
Im going to bed now. You are wrong, it happens to everyone grow up and get over it. |

Dude, it’s really, really simple. The Oilers have nothing to do with the East, our division or the Blue Jackets and the Flyers. The Flyers and Jackets are completing for the same spot and the Jackets are doing more with less. You can enter your silly Oilers argument but it doesn’t have anything do with the topic |

SO are the Islander which you conveniently ignored in my post. You are incredibly stubborn and double down on being wrong and for what? To think people on the internet think your smart?
Oilers are not competing with the Flyers. That doesnt change the fact they have higher level superstars an are doing less with them. Columbus and the Islanders are doing more with less. Toronto, Florida have more talent than the Flyers and battling with PHI for a wild card spot.
MY POINT IS the names on the back of the Jerseys dont matter! I dont know how much more simpler I can make that. Hockey is a team game, if you put in 100% and play smart, it doesnt matter how skilled the opponent is. Being skilled with the puck is not going to make you back check, it isnt going to prevent you from losing your man on the cycle, it isnt going to stop you from puck watching and it isnt going to make you a good defensive player.
If you outwork the other team and play smarter. You will win. End of story. |

At the end of the day the power play needs to be better. The question is, is it the players or the coach/system.
I know they have tried different schemes but it’s still not working.
Imo there is TK much standing around and passing around the perimeter .
Would like to see set plays where guys can skate through the slot and look for one timers.
The play might not always be there so no pass and the squad rotates or the shooter can loop around the back of the net.
Player movement can lead to coverage breakdowns and open guys.
Plus I see to many passes to guys backhands so they need more time to read the coverage and make a play.
One sequence against the devils three straight passes were to guys on the back blade.
The passing should be started from the other direction ie counter clockwise versus clockwise.
OL and Nopa were good setup guys from behind the net maybe TK or JVR can try and work the puck on the pp from there on occasion.
Either way not having a decent pp can cost you points throughout the season. |

I dont like the players on the PP. I dont really think they are a good fit. Giroux, Couturier and Voracek are guys who belong on PP. I havent been a fan of TK on the PP lately, not a fan of Provorov on the PP, Dont like Hayes on the PP.
I get that the point shot is an option but they rely on it too much. They get the shot, sometimes we get it back, sometimes we dont. It really looks like guys are forcing plays that arent there. Entries need to be better as well |

I don't disagree with your point entirely. If you roster is top heavy and weak below, you're only going to be so good. There is a flip side to that though. There is no doubt that if Giroux was producing at his customary level, the Flyers would be a stronger team.

They would but Giroux produces generally a point per game so your looking at 1 extra goal per game on average(19). It would help them be a little better position but it isnt going to make a huge impact like jump them to 1st or 2nd. We had a lot of 1 goal games so he could have tied games we lost, gotten us the extra point perhaps but no guarantee in getting the Ws.Defensively he looks fine, it is just contribution wise where he seems to struggle and a large part of that has to do with the PP |

I disagree completely. Giroux playing at the level he is normally accustomed to would have a significant impact on the team's fortunes. |
