I know as well as anyone, this isn’t the pre cap era. This is no longer a player for player business. With this said, if Arizona felt any pressure to move Taylor Hall’s 6 million cap hit for JvR’s 7 million cap hit and our first round pick to sweeten the pot, why wouldn’t we do it?

Not sure I'm trying to give up a first rounder for a few months of Hall

More importantly, arizona also has their cap issues so I'm not sure they want JvR for the rest of his contract too

I kind of agree on the first rounder. I really like Hall and the idea of losing JVR's cap hit, but I still don't think the Flyers would beat a team like the Capitals or Tampa if they had to face them in the playoffs, but who knows. I'd rather not lose that first.

Right. I am not opposed to something like that. However, I do not think something big like that will present itself.

The devils retained 3 mil i think. So wouldn't it be a 3 mil cap hit? Could Arizona fit JVRs salary?
- Ftown19125

No idea. So even better.

Not a few months. Hall isn’t a player to rent. You move JvR, you create the space to make something work with Hall.

I have no issue with anyone opposed to this idea because my idea is highly unlikely. The question becomes, who in our system has the upside to become as good as Giroux was in his prime?

They would Arizona trade Max Domi?

Why would Arizona trade for Phil Kessel?

Why would their be rumors of Arizona looking to trade Hall while still being in the mix to make the playoffs?

Coyotes are in the same position as the Flyers: trying to turn the corner. Replacing Hall with a much less dangerous player and a 1st-rounder that won't come into play for another 2-3 seasons doesn't exactly fit the pattern of what they've been trying to do with Galchenyuk -> Kessel -> Hall.

If they weren't currently in PO position, then maybe you could believe that they'd try to recoup some value on Hall. But as it stands, swapping Hall for JvR basically pulls the plug on their season. (Not to mention really bones their payroll for the future).
