Yeah he was a UFA but he played with the team prior. When was the last time they made a splash on a UFA they didn't have play for them the year prior? NJ just isn't a destination spot for UFAs.

I will however say I feel it in my gut Coleman will Parise us. From Texas like his wife. Grew up a Stars fan. He has future Dallas Star written all over him.

We did have the inside track, completely overpaid....and it still did not work out for us. So again I would say FA does not work well for NJ.

Instead of signing Vets like Green and Zajac to long term contracts with minimal offensive contribution we can keep Vets like Coleman and Palmieri that can do it all. These are the guys you try to keep. There's a long list of other bums to drop before trading them for late first round picks unlikely to match their contributions.
