I'll take any number of Phantoms in that spot for a fraction of the cost.

That really goes to my point. We've seen Aube-Kubel take a step forward in growth this year. He was given multiple opportunities and finally put it together. They shouldn't be signing veteran 4th line players to that kind of cap hit and taking up a roster spot. They need to allow competition for the younger players.

Just a hypothetical question, but if you could sign Pitlick for cheaper than Raffl, would you trade Raffl to make room for Nak or another younger guy?

We brought back Raffl to this kind of money and now we’re talking about bringing back Pitlick to the same amount? Why would you sign your fourth line players to this kind of money when you can give your kids in the minors an opportunity making next to nothing or sign a guy to the league minimum?

Didn’t say they should sign him, I think he will be priced out of phllly

Still a ton of hurdles to clear. He's weeks away from returning at minimum. Is he going to be able to avoid migraines after contact? Sure hope so.

This. This terrifies me, and I'm sure NoPa is a little nervous as well. Hopefully that skull is rock solid.

They certainly needed a more competent backup, but I still don't like their team. Their run and gun style won't translate well to the playoffs and they rely to heavily on Andersen.

Yes, but I still would not overpay Pitlick as has been suggested.

Not to sound arrogant, but during the summer when NYR and NJD were making all these moves, I never once thought either team was going to be good or better than us. Surely they got some big names for the headlines, but the depth issues were still apparent to me.

For the metro I predicted:

WSH
PIT
PHL
CAR
NYI
NYR
NJD
CLB

I just saw the Flyers reassigned Ustimenko to the Phantoms and Sandstrom to the Royals. Seems like Sandstrom is having a tough time. His numbers don't look too good.
