I really think Fletcher had a great offseason:
Resigning Moose.
Trading for Hayes's rights + Signing him
Trading for Nisky and Braun
Trading for Pitlick. - arichardson22
Corduroy is rolling over in his grave right now. Chuckles? Great offseason? |

The Simmonds trade ended up being Simmonds for Pitlick and a 3rd. Given how both players have played this year, that's damn good. - jmatchett383
Never thought of it like that. Good point! |

Speaking of coaching changes, has anyone confirmed Isaac's tweet about Patrick? I'm still waiting for us to sign Quennville. |

Awesome to hear Nopa is cleared to practice.
Not expecting anything at this point but a positive step. |

Bill and Carchidi have both tweeted that Patrick is practicing, I a regular jersey, today. |

I was a fan of the Niskanen trade, as I thought Gudas had inflated numbers due to his deployment and usage. Niskanen has been fantastic.
Braun has impressed me. I'm still not a huge fan of the cost, but the team is much better off with him than without him.
All in all, I'm a fan of both deals. - jmatchett383
Braun must feel lucky leaving the Sharks when he did

Braun was clearly the glue that kept the Sharks team together |

I still don’t like taking back any money for Gudas but with this said, I’m within the belief Niskanen or Provorov should have been announced an assistant captain right out of camp. Niskanen has been quietly solid every night and this top pair does a lot of heavy letting. |

It all counts. As the old saying goes:

Very fascinating, Little John. I’m just going to eat the rolls now.

Big fan of Nisky and Braun both - even if Braun's market price to acquire was a slight overpay. They've both been a magnitude of consistency that the corps needed, which has helped our young D find their legs this season.
Curious about Pitlick.. I'd really like to see him resigned/extended, but do we think we could afford him at UFA with how many RFAs will need to be extended already? |

Patrick only practiced because it was a skills day. AV wouldn't comment on whether he is cleared for contact |

I know I’m gonna hear the boooooo’s but yes, Pitlick has had a strong season after a slow start. He works very hard. With this said, he doesn’t specialize in very much, if anything. |

I think it could be argued he's one of our better skaters. |

Considering our cap use, and his deployment, if he can be afforded I think he's the perfect bottom 6 wing.
He's a solid skater, a solid forechecker, seems to have a relatively high hockey IQ, and a motor that doesn't quit. My only apprehension would be his being injury-prone.
As for not being a specialist: if all 12 of your forwards are "specialists" in something, you're going to run out of cap real quick. |
