I don't mind either way.
Target the right prospect or draft the right guy.... as long as you get a good player. - Scabeh
Seems like way too much to ask for |

A 20-21 year old D is much closer to the NHL than an 18 year old one, right? - obie
Sure.
But a good 20-21 year old D is probably harder to get too. |

Their top 3 scorers came from trades? (Although Perron was originally drafter by them) - GannicusAD
Well that settles it.
OUR 3 best scorers came from trades!
Tatar
Danault

Perhaps... I'd be ok with adding one of Chicago's picks to sweeten the deal, or Winnipeg's or Anaheim's... that's where all those picks could come in handy |

You need to surround your kids with good vets, and let them grow their game. You don't need X numbers of top 5 or top 10 picks. Montreal has been mightily struggling in that department, so yeah would be wise to look at the successful team and just reproduce the same damn formula. Now, if someone is willing to grossly overpay for Petry or Tatar...but Domi is still the guy to go IMO. - Habsody
I guess he is expendable if they keep Tatar...they'd have him and Drouin on the LW, maybe Kovalchuk if they keep him. At centre, they have Danault and Suzuki as top 2 centres...with KK and Poehling too. |

You recognized that 20-31 is a better pick than anything 63-93 so you're ahead of the game apparently |

Byron, Lehkonen, Cousins on LW as well...how many (frank)ing left wingers does a team really need ? |

Ryan Poehling and Victor Mete not at practice because of the virus. Jordan Weal is on the ice. Jonathan Drouin is skating on the 4th line @CanadiensMTL

They just need dmen and a game changer (Caufield has the potential to). |

And you load up on D prospects by trading Petry and Tatar now + Weber, Chiarot and Byron later... that simple |

Depends.
Tampas 1st? That's likely a 25th-30th pick.
More chances at landing a gem in the 3rd round than late first IMO.
David Pasternak is the only great late 1st round pick of the last 10 years I think - GannicusAD
Thats a very stupid post, even around here ! lol |
