But you can't trade everyone either, you need a good mix of vet and youngster
Oddly enough its Petry I would trade, I think goal scoring is hard to find, I would keep Tatar
Fully open to trade Lekh, Byron Thompson...
So ya not important I know, so the big move is trading Petry for a very good young D ( since we are not winning in the next 2 years )
Then maybe in June group picks and a winger for either a better pick or another D - Xizord
Byron is a salary dump at this point

Tatar is definitely not the problem but what he could bring back could be a big part of the solution down the road - obie
well if the return is stupid ( like when Detroit traded him) then by all means go ahead
Same answer goes for Weber |

Then keep him and hope he jumps back next year, sad I liked him before |

Tatar first, then Petry, then Chiarot and Weber and finally Price |

Asking price for Kovalchuk should be a first round pick... I wouldn’t settle for anything less.

Based on people I've spoken to, expectation is he'll fetch a second. But they have to be insane not to ask for a first. There could be multiple teams after him, and most of them are cap-strapped and he costs nothing.
Those guys are really smoking some good stuff.... |

I'd rather get a D prospect picked in the 2nd round of the last 3 draft instead of a pick |

so you think he's not even fetching a 2nd? Don't forget, other GMs sometimes smoke really good stuff too loll...

Not sure he can fetch a 2nd but asking a 1st is pure (frank)ing lunacy. |

Not one that's ready to jump right in but why are you so worried about who's gonna take Petry's minutes? You afraid they might finish 29th instead of 26th? - obie
I can't recall a team being successful in developping young talent in a loosing envrionnment. I really believe that Romanov would develop better paired with a vet like Petry instead of the great #77 Brett the great Kulak...couldn't care less between 26th and 29th it just about developping properly. I thought everybody learned from Edmonton. |

well it won't happen unless you ask for it, so you lower the bar once it's been confirmed no GM wants to go ahead with a 1st... |

Depends.
Tampas 1st? That's likely a 25th-30th pick.
More chances at landing a gem in the 3rd round than late first IMO.
David Pasternak is the only great late 1st round pick of the last 10 years I think |

I don't. But then again, I'm not the one asking. It's part of the negotiations. A handful of teams offer their 2nd. You tell them, other teams also offered a 2nd, so make it a first and he's yours today. |
