You are probably right but I thought late in the summer they were still struggling with cap space even after those moves were done.

I haven't been following them much this year. I think they bought out a bunch of players too.

Can someone explain how the hell WPG will have 21 mil in cap space at the trade deadline?

I can sort of understand the Byfuglien situation when he refused to report to work so that is 7.6 mil off. They were up against the cap trying to get Laine and Connor signed and didn't look like they could squeeze them in so how do they now have 21 mil in space.

Secondly Benning has to talk to some of these GMs and see how they get players to just walk away from million dollars in contracts. At the start of this year Byf was still owed 15 mil and he just says screw it?

Is it prorated 21 mill? Would make more sense that way

Morning Carol, hope you enjoyed the game last night, it looks as though it was a great time by my social media feeds.

Drive safe, Victorians are terrible drivers at the best of times, this dusting of snow will send people over the edge.

Maybe it was an “internal” cap problem?

There are a lot of transplants from other provinces/countries. They all bring their crazy. The real problem is that it’s so mild here nobody has winter tires, or experience, they drive too fast, follow too closely etc.

Pretty much the same here.

Driving in Richmond on most days is a challenge but add bad weather and look out.

Did you notice how I stick handled around not saying Asians are terrible drivers

There should be a hefty fine for that.
I do love seeing pickups lying sideways in the ditch, though.

They took a chance. I didn't have high hopes for him considering his history.

It's really not a big deal given how well the team has done without him. Just means we have more cap space coming up.

Worthwhile risk.

Jim said he was ready to go on Sunday but then Patrick Johnston said because of Utica's schedule (Wed away game) and conditioning stints are for 6 days it would make more sense to send him on (yesterday) Monday. Obviously that didnt happen.
sooooo...
If they want him to play a couple games then sending later this week (friday) would make the most sense. Cus he would get to play Saturday and Wednesday (Home games).

Meh. He was cleared physically by multiple teams doctors. Can’t predict future injuries

I would say they have sh1t luck when it comes to free agency but we all know it has a lot more to do with other things too.

Fantenberg has been an excellent signing and so far I like Myers but we seldom do good in free agency. Other than that Jim has struck out quite a bit when it comes to free agents.

I do like Beagle but admit it is over payment and a year too long. I don't think we have got our moneys worth yet on Roussel yet either because of injury.

I think the most of that is over now and we will be waiting for our prospects.

Stay to lower end signings like Rafferty Fatty and maybe Bailey if he ever gets in.

Murph said he doesn't know exactly what is going on but he is not even with the Comets yet. He said I am guessing but not being ready for a conditioning stint does not sound promising.

I think a lot of GMs are in that boat of missing on FA signings. The vast majority are over payments, with too long of contracts, unless you're getting a 1 or 2 year deal on a guy, they typically come back to hurt you.
