Did Boqvist play in overtime? He should be out there vs. Gus, but hey we got a point and played like crap, except for #50. - Angotti

I was for sending him down , but I am a believer now . - oldduffman
Can't send him down, can only send him to PeeWee hockey what's that going to do for him but waste a year of development and possibly get injured. |

It's a dumb rule (teams not being able to send a prospect to the AHL), but I've been happy with his progress.
If he'd been floating around half the year and couldn't figure out where to be on the ice, you could see a point for letting him develop somewhere else, but that hasn't been the case. |

Well, not really. The points against your direct competition is the best way to gain any ground. The possibility exist that even if they beat Boston, they gain no ground.
Points are points, tho. - Elbows15
Realized after I posted, I goofed on that one, but the bolded was mostly my point. |

Next 6 games we’ll be lucky to get 4 points
I didn’t know the schedule was that brutal after Boston.
Well, it was fun while it lasted... - SimpleJack

That a tough run ,but will give the FO a great idea where they stand . HAWKS can win everyone of those games, start on time and get great goaltending |

For sure, can’t come out of the gate in a coma like last night. Still hoping Stan either does nothing or can make a minor trade or two that gives the Hawks more draft picks...looking at you Gus. |

Strome does not have his skating legs back yet. He also is pulling up instead of driving the net. I wonder if they sit him one game and insert Highmore.

Hawks may get pounded tonight. But I would like Lehner to have a good game and I would like someone (or more than one) hammer Marchand hard. I wonder if they start Seeler and sit Gus against a very physical team like the Bruins. |

Kane should wear a sign saying "Hey guys go fight for the puck, and when you get it, pass it to me, I will be over here". Kane got the tripping penalty early in the game, and what did he do ? He just stood there, and Hawks did not have the puck yet. What did he do in overtime ? He took his time getting out of the offensive zone, then the Hawks got the puck and had to wait to move forward because Kane was too lazy to skate over the blue line. The list goes on and on. And it wasn't just THIS game. - MadHatter
It's difficult to assess from a distance, but I think Kane was royally pissed off last night. At what exactly, I don't have a clue.

I don't believe management nor the coaching staff, dislikes Gus half as much as this board does.

That's for sure. Maybe he senses that the Hawks will ride out the storm with what they have. Clearly, it isn't enough, so why should HE kill himself? Guy's a top-notch competitor who clearly loves the limelight, and who wants to make the playoffs.

So you are confirming that management and the coaching staff dislikes Gus, just that they dislike him a lot less than the posters on this board do?
We will see how much they like him at the TDL or when he signs a new contract.
Actually I think Gus is ok as a bottom pairing, 2nd PP guy. Playing on the 2nd pairing is playing above his defensive skill level. The Hawks are grooming Boqvist for the PP role, and he actually is interested in trying to learn how to play defense at the NHL level. |

Agreed. I know he is wearing a letter on a young team, but he is wasting his best seasons watching the front office try to fleece the fan base. God forbid he shows frustration with the quality of talent around him. With Strome back, this is what they need to do for the push:
Kane-Toews-Kubalik
Saad-Dach-Nylander
Cat-Strome- Caggulia
Smith-Kampf-Carpenter |

Would have been nice if he at least showed up last night...or at least hung a "mailing it in" sign around his neck last night so Saad would have known not to pass to him. |

Last night he started the game with Saad and Dach I believe? The whole team looked off for at least half the game; but Kane looked off all night and that's hardly an untalented pair he began the game with.
So the FO is fleecing the fan base trying to regain the level of competitiveness they enjoyed before the recent downturn? How so? |

I can give you 10.5 million reasons.
Seriously, I think he gets frustrated when opponents are successful at taking away his time and space. In particular when teams put a heavy checking line on him that really focus on him. It seemed like he was matched against the Greenway most of the night. |

He's scored ONE goal in the last 11 games. For a perennial top points-getter in the NHL, that's pretty bad. Going to go out on a limb and guess some of the visible frustration is due to that. |

Agree in part. Saad shouldn't have been looking for signs. He should have shot.
