The leaves ain’t winning a cup while they continue trading chance for chance with the opposition regardless of who they have in net. - paulr
So right, Paul. They'll rout some team one night, and hurl stink bombs the next. Tavares was a crazy signing, and he already appears to be slowing down a bit. Still good, mind you, but not Islander good.

Does he have the DNA of Stahlberg ? Very fast/hands of steel/ low HOCKEY IQ - spanky
I was joking, he was benched a game ago for not waking up in time for a team practice. Apparently he’s done that a few times with the Marlies in the past. He has speed but unlike a McDavid who can play at top speed Kapenan cannot. So far he’s shown he’s closer to being a bottom six player. Last year he looked like he may be a second line forward. I think he needs a year or so to see what he’s got. |

Some background info on Seeger, from Michael Russo in ‘The Athletic’.
In 99 games with the Wild, Seeler, a former Gopher, scored two goals, nine assists, amassed 93 penalty minutes and was an even plus-minus. After a tough first-year pro with Iowa in 2016-17, Seeler was one of the prospect pool’s most improved players in 2017-18. He impressed so much in Des Moines, he was recalled to Minnesota and was terrific, assisting on four goals and being a plus-10 in 22 games.
Seeler made the Wild out of training camp last season and played 71 games. But his regular spot in the lineup ended in January once the Wild traded for Brad Hunt, then claimed Anthony Bitetto off waivers in a three-day span. He ended up sitting on an almost nightly basis, a theme that continued surprisingly into this season.
Seeler worked hard all of last summer in anticipation of a roster battle this season. The assumption by everyone, even those amongst the Wild coaching staff, was Seeler, Hunt and Greg Pateryn would be vying nightly to play on the third defense pair.
However, Carson Soucy, considered the Wild’s most disappointing player in the 2018-19 training camp and an early roster cut because of it, redeemed himself with a strong training camp this time. He ended up making the team, had a strong first half and thus pushed Seeler down the depth chart. Seeler had a tough training camp and start to the season because he does have a tendency to take bad penalties or lose his composure on the ice. - scottak
That trio isn't exactly awe inspiring. I guess if it lets Gilbert work out some more kinks in Rockford, yay? |

In the same era of Dave Feamster #3, Keith Brown #4, and Bill Gardner #14. We attended a lot of games together. Miss that old barn! - gabriel
Brown doesn't belong in that group. He just never could stay healthy enough to reach his full potential. |

Elbows here is a few questions for you should the hawks sell or stand pat? If they are selling who should go and for what? - Scott1977
Sell. Draft picks and prospects. |

He has produced every level he has been at. Not saying he will make it in the NHL, but he would instantly become the top rated forward in the Hawks system not playing on the big club. Strome is slow, Brock Boesser is not a speedster, ADB is not a speedster. - LAHawk
He's slower than Strome and hasn't been given a sniff of the NHL yet. What does that tell you ? |

Meant to imply that the Islanders have fared rather well without Tavares. Meanwhile, up in Toronto, not as much. It was a good signing by the Leafs, but they are really going to be eventually hung with Tavares' contract. That, to me, was the "crazy " element. |

Stalock seemingly had no idea. Surely someone on the bench called him off.

That was so odd....Wild pulled their goalie and had extra attacker for like 20 seconds even though there was never any penalty called.
Regardless, Hawks look awful. Zero shot attempts. Can’t even touch the puck. Embarrassing. |

Have to get out of their own zone to get shots. |

Hasn't the Hawks had to give up young assets because of cap trouble? - LAHawk
I believe Lehner, CC, Gus, Kkkk are FA so why would anyone trade for them in the summer. We traded 1 guy and i still don't know why for Fleischmann and Weise |
