I can imagine Tatar drawing a lot of attention right now...

They are keeping all of them in hopes they will be in the exact same situation next year.

Would be a great time to trade him at his highest value. Which is probably why it won't happen.

Best goalie in the world, if no one gets injured they have a shot to sneak in the playoffs and once you're in anything can happen

And in 2 years with 14 forwards competing for top 9 spots, where is he even gonna play?

At least 10 teams looking for top 6 F and he's a rather ideal candidate for so many reasons

On the 1st line while young guys fight for a 4th line spot and get sent down to Laval from time to time.

And their D will be even more awful than it is right now and Price will suck even more. But hey, they'll have a ton of talented wingers !

To be fair, they'll probably trade a winger at some point when his value is at its lowest and get a 2nd round pick out of it.

Sounds promising... a much better idea than turning Tatar, Petry and Kovalchuck into 4 D prospects so you have a young F group and a young D core hitting their prime at around the same time

To be serious, The Athletic did a good piece on KK, and what went wrong between last season and this season, and that he's not seeing being sent to Laval as a negative. He's thrilled he's going to play more then he was on the main roster. He full out loves the game, and sees it as a chance to improve, as well as play more.
The real problem with the Habs, is if ANYONE stumbles, the fans crucify them, call them a bust, and demand he be traded. He had a great year last year, spent the summer bulking up and focusing on his physical game which everyone female doged about, because he's got a babyface. He just needs to learn a general regimen to improve his overall game, and he'll be fine.

Not every kid makes it at 18 in the nhl and fans can't expect every young player to be Crosby.

Problem is he was better at 18 than he is at 19.

Sure, but if you do that you won't be able to convince your gullible fans that you'll make the playoffs next year.
