That's their problem, let's worry about getting to April first and that won't happen with the same roster

Won't happen with the same GM or coach either.

but seriously, I've been a Hawks fan for 50 years, since Tony Esposito in fact. so even if they won 3 cups in the last 10 years, it was a long time coming

So.... are Petry and Tatar good enough to fetch a prospect the likes of Noah Dobson? Bowen Byram? Jake Bean? Victor Soderstrom? Evan Bouchard? Philip Broberg?

Don't sidestep the question with irrelevant ramblings, a yes or no will do!

I' don't think they would bring that good a prospect.
and I especially don't think they will trade them.

If they fall out far enough they might consider it, that's the goal anyway

And look at that, we agree again, not good enough for a prospect of that caliber, those guys are all projected to be top pairing guys, or close to... so you target the wave right under it? Wouldn't you agree?

no, I would keep them.
the problem with the Habs is not that Danault and Tatar or Petry are not good enough.
the problem is that the next wave, the kids, are not ready.
jump ahead 3 years from now, when kids will be ready, and you'll be very happy to have vets to surround them.
Weber though will be too old by then, so trade him. not Petry
imho

edit, btw, I hope I don't have to repeat this every day till the draft

it's very simple, do we agree Habs will have a decent team in 3 years, when kids are ready?

the only current player who will be too old by then is Weber.

They will not have a good team, they'll have good F depth and a really bad D and needing a stud F
