Here’s my reasoning for the trades.

With Rielly, Muzzin and Sandin playing LD, we Dermott can be moved for an actual RD who is more physical and better defensively.

Johnson for Georgiev is actually pretty fair, I would honestly also include a pick to do this deal. I look at him as the next Anderson. Freddie was a backup with promise in Anaheim when we got him and I view Georgiev the same; great backup that could/should replace Anderson when his contract is up after next season.

The Dillon trade is because I have heard it will probably cost a 3rd/4th to get him and I’m ok with moving either of those picks ti get a guy to replace Rielly for now and then help give us D insurance for the playoffs.

I've actually heard Leafs are going hard for Dillon and trying to get Marleau back now that he's making league minimum... Sounds crazy, but I know a guy who knows a guy... take that for what you will.
Can't say it will happen of course but Ek might not actually blowing smoke for once...

Now that Babcock is fired Marleau can be buried on the 4th line like what should have happened last year

Freddie was a 3rd round draft pick with amazing numbers, in Denmark, minors and during early years.
Georgiev was undrafted and has not yet proven he can play in the big leagues. He has an average that would have been good....in the 80's, but in today's age, he is barely a minor leaguer.

Trading Johnsson for Georgiev is dumb enough, adding draft picks is just beyond ridiculous. You sure you are a Leaf fan?

I don't. Andersen had proven himself much more.

I stand corrected. Georgiev plays behind a not great NYR team and their Defense hasn’t been good all year for him. In 66 games he has a career save percentage of .913 but I honestly thought it was better than that. The eye test tells me he is better than his numbers say but yes you are correct, Anderson’s numbers were better when he was with Ana than Georgievs are with NYR.

Goalies are just so hard to judge and unpredictable. That's why Gorgiev still won't go for that much

Just waiting for names at this point. I’m sure a deal gets done by days end. There is a deadline.

Good Rangers will just keep him then, no reason to trade him at the deadline and maybeoverthesummer Rangers move him or keep him and buyout Lundquist

Nobody is taking Lundquist and they’re is no way they are buying him out so Georgiev much has to get moved barring a season ending injury by Shet or Georgiev. You can’t afford him there’s this thing called the salary cap you may not be aware of? That I have to tell you this is pretty incredible. Goalies usually don’t get a huge return in trades historically it’s just the way it is.

On the thought of trading for Georgiev, I am not opposed at all. But just not willing to give up the type of assets you offered for him.

Keeping him is probably the Rangers best bet.
