Kampf and Carpenter play the perfect style/role suitable for the 4th line. Nylander and Dach the exact opposite, they belong on a scoring line somewhere in the top 9. So just some minor tweaks and then it looks right:
Kubalik-Toews-Caggiula
Saad-Dach-Kane
DeBrincat-Strome-Nylander
Smith/Highmore-Carpenter-Kampf
That’s the perfect way to line em’ up IMO - SimpleJack
Nylander’s style is best suited to Rockford, or better yet some other Orginization’s farm club. |

Strome for Anderson should get someone fired. - Elbows15
Agree, only way I would trade is to “package” with other assets to upgrade to a Barzal or Barkov (in my opinion)... which the other team may not be wanting/willing to do.
Maybe for a young LD like Sanheim with a roll of the dice Patrick (or swap with prospects like Frost)
I do feel they need to keep Strome at C (also feel the same with Dach staying as a C). It feels like Anisimov all over again... or when they tried Kane at C for 1/2 a season. |

There is no "package" Bowman could put together that would get Tallon to trade him Barkov.

OEL left the Kings game and didn't return. If he doesn't play, I hope they can jump on the Yotes. But, there are a lot of ex-Blackhawks that are going to be hyped. I see this as a real boring game that ends up being a blow-out. Just not sure if the 3-in-4 or the rust will be the bigger culprit of being blown out. - CanOCorn
Why does this matter on whether or not OEL plays? They need to jump on every team they play regardless of who is injured or not. They need points plain and simple. It doesn't matter which team, conference, or player is on the other side |

He’s up with the Hawks right now though, so might as well play him where it makes the most sense, no?
You got any better line suggestions?
Because the ones I’ve suggested are damn near perfect. Unless you think Carpenter and Kampf are more deserving of a chance to play on a scoring line than Nylander and Dach?
Let the kids with the skill play along side other skilled players and try to produce. Let the 4th line grinders lacking in skill play with the other 4th line grinders.
Call me crazy for suggesting such a thing. |

Dach-Saad and Kane won't work. That 3rd line won't be able to get out of their own zone. The 4th line is what it should have been all season. - Elbows15
Why won’t Saad-Dach-Kane work?
And that 3rd line would get easier matchups and features a guy coming off a 40 goal season along with 2 other highly skilled former top 10 picks. Not many better 3rd lines on paper across the entire league.
Also, if you agree on that 4th line then where the hell else are Dach and Nylander supposed to slot in? |

He doesn't read the game that well that's why he's on the wing. He's terrible in his own zone. An 18 year old rookie is better than him defensively - GPHawksfan
I can live with him when you consider the results from his line with DeBtincat ....scoring or generating good scoring opportunities each game last season. I have said it before and I have even heard whispers if Tavarez sliding if the league keeps getting faster.......I just believe when your team is loosing match ups because some of your players get beat to the puck.....it is always better if possible to have speed over slower guys. One of the reasons u like Carlsson for our future defense...I foresee all or most of our dmen are such good skaters....you can have better control of puck when you get to the puck before the other guy. |

Both Barzal and Barkov are guys you build teams around so them being available is fantasyland. Barkov may be one of the best players few know about. He is helluva good.
Patrick is a definite no for me. Even when healthy he didn't do much for me and given the ages of Patrick and Strome, Strome is the better player. Sanheim is another guy I find it hard to believe is available for trade.
What if Strome is better at wing? His skating is an issue defensively. His stops and starts lack quickness. In the D-zone, it shows up.
Dach is playing center for all intent and purposes but being sheltered with someone else taking FOs for him until he gets more experience and strength. |

If he’s up with the club he should be a healthy scratch. It makes no sense that this team refuses to ice the best possible team on any given night.
If he’s in the lineup, then I guess your combos are as good as any. With a roster that includes two pieces of bread and a pile of poop, it’s tough to make anything other than a poop sandwich. |

All 3 guys like to carry the puck and are their most effective when doing so. Strome is a better fit for Kane and Saad if he would stop deferring to Kane too much. Nylander could work with Dinky and Dach. Dinky wouldn't need to carry the puck so much and just get his ass in position to shoot.

Meh. He is a work in progress. This team can afford the patience to see if he can put his talent together on the ice. It could pay off big in the future. or it can be a failure. It is best to find out now. This team is going nowhere aside from all the playoff fantasies some believe. Play the kid. The worst that can happen is it helps the Hawks get a better draft spot. |

Strome for Anderson should get someone fired. - Elbows15
I honestly do not know what upside J Anderson has. Young guy gets I injured it seems too often. I like what I have seen.but I haven't seen more than bits and pieces sometimes when we play them. So Strome is a much better upside or just even what you have seen from.bith is about what you expect from both in terms of statistics anyway. Could you add or correct anything to this as I do not know what upside Anderson has....figured a 20.ish goal scorer with some toughness boards work |

hes coming back from major injury. Just like Maatta and DeHaan, so SB might be salivating at the idea. Packaged him with Murray and Murphy might be going to CBJ. |

With Buffalo 10 points out of a wild card spot would they move Frolik for a 5th round pick?
Saad Toews Kubalik
ADB Strome Kane
Caggiula Dach Frolik
Carpenter - then pick 2 out of Smith/Kampf/Highmore/Nylander
You recover the pick by trading Gus to someone else.

If it was 2015 Michael Frolik, sure, 2020 Michael Frolik is a #12-13 forward. All your doing is taking ice time away from Highmore, Nylander etc. Rather see the kids at this point. |

Murray was #2 overall in his draft year. He may have more games missed than played career wise due to Injuries most if not each year. He is a descent talent, could be strong third pair and descent second pair when he is in line up for a while. Skates and can move puck fairly well; he has been descent defensively but do you take another player on the roster who gets hurt all the time? Like Shaw does although with Shaw it is concussion and Murray all sort of injuries
I get it that you have Murphy natural RD and skates worse than Murray. But I'd Murphy is healthy he probably soldifies their defense. Anderson and Murray a two for one with Murphy departing.....I have to really like Anderson because that Murray is always missing bulk if a season. I have no opinion whether I would do that trade. I want a detailed report on Murray health for start of even considering if I want to ponder if this trade is sensible. |

Anderson is probably what he is at this point. A 35-40 player with some physical presence and penchant for taking dumb penalties. He is a fine player but Strome is better rigt now and still has some upside. |
