My sourse says the pegulas were considering a combined hockey/football downtown entertainment venue. They publicly announced the study recently.

I believe they are/were waiting for the stadium study, prior to addressing the key bank arena.

Sounds like it's not plausible (dual stadium)

Expect renovations announced sooner than later

- Boss34

All I have heard from my sources is that the stadium is 100% going downtown and the pegulas really do want a new arena. The current arena is a dump and very out of date.

But haven’t heard anything in the last few months.

Watching the OTT game and not so much the MON game, other teams are just smothering Jack, 2 or even 3 guys at a time. He's still getting his but it seems literally NOBODY else is helping him. And when he's not on the ice, forget it. You got 55 and 19 still blasting pucks off the boards in the D zone as a "break out". The forwards cannot move through the neutral zone at all and we dump it in 85% of the time. If you watch other teams, they do not do this. It just seems they're playing super lazy hockey and collecting checks. Being a player's coach only works if the players are 100% bought in and hold each other accountable. This team is a mess.

A downtown stadium will be a train wreck. There's already traffic problems in OP and there's nothing out there. Our infrastructure cannot handle a downtown stadium. Good luck, Terry.

It can be a nightmare getting 20k from a hockey game and now they want to try 3-4x that amount. Good luck getting to work on Monday

The arena was built the same cookie cutter way that 1980's baseball stadiums were built. Very generic very bland... I will admit they have done a lot better to show that this arena is in Buffalo NY where years ago you wouldnt know what city you were in .

I’m sure that would be taken care of / part of the plan too.

Build a rail system, Park/tailgate down by the old peer take a rail into the stadium, would cost a fortune by Terry's got it. Go drill another well.

and tear down the Skyway while your at it. I live in the south tows and i can honestly say I have not been over the sky-way more then 5 times in 20 years.

funny you mention the Sky Way, I feel that has to be one of the major access points for getting people out.
The pier idea is good seeing as the NFTA owns it and would get a ton of money for the rail system.

No joke, I went to the Eric Church concert I think last or two springs ago in the arena. It was raining very heavily outside. I, in the 300's, was also getting rained on. I reported the problem, showed them there's a CONSTANT drip of water directly on my seat. And what do they do?

Ok, we'll tell someone.

That was it. The whole thing. These people are (frank)ing worthless.

- TheSabresTaco

Countless times I've gone in a bathroom at the beginning of a game and soap/paper towel dispensers are empty. I went to the guest services counter on the 300 level recently looking for the game program. The guy tells me they're trying to find a box to bring up there. It's all these little things that are indicative of how the whole org is run. And that One Buffalo app sucks too.

When you’ve missed the playoffs for 9 straight years, you don’t come into a season with no 2C or 3C when you’re carrying 8+ NHL defensemen.

It’s a slap in the face to the fan base.

Martie Bearon doesn’t want to hear about knock off jerseys and misspelled names on the alumni. I am sure he would change his mind if he was the one wearing a Bearon 0 jersey.

Do the Pegulas own/operate the arena?

Someone on twitter mentioned that had the team increased the fan experience during these down years, it would be easier to justify some of the nightmares.

I remember them saying they were going to visit every arena and bring back the best ideas to make the game day experience the best in the league.

I'm going to renew
I'm the sucker the pegulas love

I have really good seats that I will never be able to reclaim, if I turn them in.

Also know as : the fear of missing out

- Boss34

I'm not. Was gonna cancel last year but figured I'd give the new coach a try. I only have 300s so nothing special to lose. Might just get a mini pack or buy off the secondary market for $10.

Owned by the county, operated by PSE I believe.

Amtrak goes right through the downtown area and a current train station is being built.

The subway system from the arena to UB can easily be used.

The nicer months- park your boat downtown (I don’t know how doable that is)

The skyway needs to go. Badly to open in the waterfront. But they need to replace it with something first.

They play literally the same videos every pre game and play awful music during the game.

DJ milk is terrible and should never come back to the arena

Well some of the arena was renovated, not the entire thing.

Like locker rooms, the gym, and stuff like that, the suites, and some of the 200 level. Also the signs and some paint.

Called it after he was drafted. Said his ceiling was Ryan Nugents Hopkins and was called a troll because people thought he would be Malkin.

I would package Reinhart and Mitts in a deal for a player that can actually drive his own line. Maybe a Center so Okposo, I mean Skinner could actually do something for 9 million

BS- they even got rid of the giant sabres flag they used to proudly pass around the stadium GeForce home games.

No soap or paper towels when I was there vs. islanders back in November. Club sets too.
