It's alright to tell me what you think about Casey
I won't try to argue or hold it against you
I know that you're reaching, you must have your reasons
The season is crumbling, the standings their falling down
The steps that I retrace, the sad look on your face
The timing and structure did you hear Botts rushed him?

A day late a buck short I'm writing a draft report
On losing and failing when I move I'm flailing now
And it's happened once again
I'll turn into a lottery team
Someone that understands
Sees through the master plan

Just curious here, but would anyone trade Bogo and say a 6th to Boston for Backes and a 1st?
Very similar to what the Canes and Leafs did (Marleau, 1st and 7th for a 6th), however it gives Boston a big defenseman to play on the 3rd pairing going into the playoffs. That is one of the things they're rumored to be looking for.

Just curious to see how much people value a 1st vs taking back a cap hit. I would definitely have done that deal that Carolina did with Toronto.

With all this crap that I know
My love of hockey's almost dead
It all just goes to now show
Sabre's sucking doesn't change me at all
Again, I waited for this to change, instead
To make a playoff or 2
Another night of losing
But I always root for you

Use me JB come on and use me....

Toronto gave Carolina Marleau a 1st and a 7th and the Canes sent them a 6th in return.

Marleau was also expiring this year, Okposo has another few years left.

Think St Louis would take Hutton back as a backup in return for Jake Allen? Saves them about $2m on the cap this year and next. Hutton had one of the best statistical seasons in the league his last year there and Binnington is clearly their #1. Heck, maybe add ERod to even the cap space for this year. ERod played his best hockey with ROR. $4m+ for a clear backup is too much, but here it would be more like a 1a/1b.

Trade everyone except Eichel, Dahlin, Joker and goaloffson. We have decent prospects coming up. Not a rebuild, a retool. The rest of this team is rotten.
- Fattony1187

I challenge you to list them.

Dylan Cozens is the free space in the middle of everybody's bingo card.

Who else to you have?

The hypothetical proposal was taking Backes and a 1st for Bogo. Okposo never came up.

not every team has a boner for former players that were decent while here and expect them to be better even though they are older and haven't been as good ever since leaving.. but maybe, just maybe

Hutton is our starting goalie for the next 3-4 weeks. Highly doubt we move him

Let me just say here and now that I do not look forward to salvation by resort to first round draft picks.

For reasons bolded above.

Wouldn't we better if it was Allen though. St Louis owes us one.

To each their own.

Mittelstadt and Thompson are not finished products and I have faith in Cozens and whomever we select this year.

At the very least they can be used as trade pieces like Nylander was.

Viva la tank.

The problem is a lot of our prospects are playing overseas. If even one turns out to be the next Pettersson, then we're doing pretty good. It's hard to predict how a player is going to transition to the NHL.
Also, a lot of the prospects in the system are dmen. None are Dahlin, but time will tell if they become good NHLers.
One guy I wish was playing this year is Aaron Huglen. Unfortunately he was injured before his freshman season at U of Minnesota started. He could be a mid round pick that we hit on to eventually contribute in a middle six role.
