Sure and delaying it one off season and getting one last crack at the lotto while 2/3 of the deadweight come off the books is not a bad thing. - Pegullaville
Yes, the dead weight he put on the roster (with the exception of bogosian) is coming off the books |

Yes, used by acquiring mid round picks to try to establish NHL depth due to what he was handed when he got here. Would you have rather him come in and blow up the non-existing prospect pool to “win now” ? Of course you would.
I’d rather depend on a method that works, building through the draft and using trades and free agency to put the finishing touches on the roster.
My faith isn’t in Botts, it’s optimism that Cozens, Mitts, Thompson, and whoever we pick in the top 15 this year becoming top 6-9 forwards and allowing us to not spend crazy money in free agency or not overspend in assets in trades |

I truly find it mystifying that the same people who are excited to see the 10 UFAs go (9 belonging to JB not counting Bogo) are also excited to see the same guy replace them |

Bogosian, Risto and Okposo are the only Murray contracts that are still on the team. Everyone else Botts gave contracts to or brought in. All I hear is how great he is with the cap. |

So he was told to do it, but it still doesn't change the fact that it had a big hand in what is happening with this Franchise now. Everyone wants to put this on Botts and yes he has made mistakes, but he's paying for the stupidity that happened before he got here. |

Then blame the owner, if your boss at work tells you to do something, do you not do it and tell him he's wrong? No, you do your job and that's what Murray did. |

My god, it's like there's a cognitive dissonance that doesn't allow you to see what's going on
In the past 12 months he's traded a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th
He's not doing what you're saying he's doing |

Does it matter? I mean, really?
We have ZERO control over it.
You're going to b!tch about Botts as long as he's here.
I won't.
Choices.
Nothing, either way, will change it. |

Yes I would tell him, especially if it will cost him more in the long run. I have been doing my job for a long time, it's all about putting a good product out the door, and making money. |

You’re incredibly intolerable at this point. Congratulations man.
You know exactly what he means. The important players will be the ones drafted
He traded the latest of the three firsts he had, pick 30.
He traded a 2021 2nd rounder.
You, as usual are bending the truth to create a narrative |

If Botts would've rejected bringing in NHL depth, and kept his picks, played AHL scrubs, Sabres would've finished bottom 1-2 and had more picks to use. |

Are you Botts???
It’s like you just ignore his faults. I hear you say he inherited no depth on the roster. Oreilly would look good right now as our #2 Center. He should of traded Kane for a player instead of a pick. Kept foligno. There’s a whole line of “depth” right here.
Botts sucks. Has he made some good moves? A couple. Have his blunders cost us way more? Absolutely. |

JB should've done that with the ROR trade. |

I like Montour, he’s a great player.
Miller was done before knowing we could get Joker, we overpaid to get him but he’s still a #5-6.
I could have done without Vesey, would have rather have signed Donskoi (but we didn’t need another bottom 6 forward I was told yet the guy has 29 points this year) |

And Botts, the guy who doesn’t know what a good forward looks like, tried to sign Donskoi. But he couldn’t force him to sign here so, you know |

Lol what?
The important draft choices are the ones he uses to draft, not the ones he trades away? I'm honestly trying to parse those words
You honestly sound like a cult member using doublespeak to defend him |

When Murray leaves
1 good prospect
0 top pair D men
0 D depth
0 forward depth
0 goaltending
0 cap space
If Botterill leaves
2 high end prospects
2 top pair D, one franchise D man
Great defense depth
0 forward depth
Bad goaltending
Actual cap space
Yes, these two things are exactly the same!!! |

I mean we would have our mid round picks but I doubt our first rounder is any different. |
