We are 4 pieces away, realistically 3 though cause Cozens will fill one of those holes. 2C, top 4 LHD, 1A/1B goalie.
- Pegullaville

top 6 RW as well

You are all (frank)ing idiots. Come at me.

Add a couple stop gaps while the kids grow up.

- Pegullaville

this is what scares me with botts

none of his stop gaps have really panned out

imagine if we were still stuck with the berglund contract on top of what we have

I’d switch places with AZ so Clayton Keller or a 32 year old Kessel would be my best player.

Or Nashville who’s bottom 10, but has an over rated Duchene aging, for another 6 years after this at a bad cap hit. But the GM did stuff!!!

Hell, let’s swap with San Jose and have everyone hit 35 years old with 5 years left on their contracts and no first round picks for years on end. Super good situation

Botterill built this roster, it's not on Murray. Post game last night they asked Eichel about the roster and if it's good enough, i'm sure everyone noticed his long pause.

Botterill thinks Sheary is a top 6. I'll leave it at that.

- SABRES 89

Botts brought in these players cause there was nothing in are system to fill slots, you can't trade for everything. It looks like he brought in the wrong ones, but some of these players wouldn't even be here if there was any kind of pipeline in the system, and that goes back to Murray

agreed

which is why 1/3 of these guys should not be on the roster

- homiedclown

And that’s why I’m not putting this on the Coach like you are

Botts tried to bring in some placeholders that could hopefully play well enough to get us into the playoffs
Most were a swing & a miss unfortunately
But he’s got a chance to replace some of those guys this summer,
so we’ll see how he does

But realistically...
we’re here waiting for the all the talented youth to develop into good players
And that is when the Sabres will actually be a good team

Good post

To show a specific example:
If Fasching & Bailey were good middle6 guys,
we wouldn’t have had to get Sheary & Vesey

Joe Sakic was able to do what Botts wasn’t able to do this year. We were basically on par with Colorado last year. Makar being a few years older then Dahlin helps.

We need to bring in our Kadri, Burakovsky, and Donskoi this offseason.

Can u not see what he’s done to “build” the team though?

Cozens, Mitts, Jokiharju, Pilut, Johnson, Bryson
Samuelsson, Laaksonen, Davidsson, Pekar, 6k...
Lots of young talent on the way

No, they won’t all work
But there’s good times ahead

Ignoring the rest of this post...

The bolded part is what he SHOULD have, COULD have and DID NOT do this PAST OFF-SEASON.

My god dude take the blinders off.

Sure, since he did trade them away
But just about everyone here saw them as very replaceable players
And idk that they’re any better than Sheary & Vesey
Maybe they are
But not enough that it’s making much of a difference

2 roster pieces away, and a bunch of improvements by the owner/management

Come on. I wanna hear it. I’m still waiting.

What team you giving up Dahlin, Sam, Olofsson, Joker etc to switch places with.

Sure and delaying it one off season and getting one last crack at the lotto while 2/3 of the deadweight come off the books is not a bad thing.

Stop blaming Tim Murray, he did what he was told by our clueless owner and his wife.
