Who’s more talented?

The Sabres or Sens?

Oh it’s the Sabres by a country mile?

Ok then please stop blaming the GM for the players laying a damn egg last night, at home, after 10 days off.

There’s so much wrong with the organization if you think flipping Botterill for someone else will do the trick you are kidding yourself

- sbroads24

This is not true.

Hire Jimmy Rutherford as President of Hockey Ops...worked well with Botts, wealth of experience building competitive teams, scrambling the last few years, but always in it.
Perfect guy with credibility to properly set the big picture plan
Experienced in managing Botts.
Would be a huge addition.
Allows the organization to minimize chaos associated with restructuring once again.
Adds some modicum of street cred the org needs to somewhat negate the negative publicity the team has across the league with players.

Would have rather kept Compher, Zadarov and the 2nd rnd pick
- Buff36

I would take a 24 year old Oreilly 12/10 times for that mediocre talent

Oh so we are basing this on where players are picked now.

I didn’t think that mattered.

Please form a sane argument on how you’d come anyone remotely close to taking the Sens forward or defense group over the Sabres. Seriously

You want Mark Borweicki or Zaitsev or Hainsey as your 2-4 D men?

How about Tyler Ennis as your 4th best forward?

Come on. Tell me how close we are

We need a 24 year old ROR now. We needed to bottom out for Matthews then. Why everyone leaves out the part that we picked 7th and got Nylander instead of a top 4 pick boggles my mind.

It was a classic trap game, and one of the few instances where the team playing on the back end of a back to back actually benefitted from having a game the night before to get their legs back.

The last place team got Matthews. That would of been a tall order to finish in last. No one leaves out the part of finishing in 7th.

If that’s the case no one should ever criticize Murray for the Kane trade since it secured us last place and Eichel then.

Maybe we get Tkachuk instead of Nylander. Also possible he plays next year here and we don’t get Dahlin.

Yeah cause that mediocre talent is on there way to helping the 2nd place team in there conference and that 2nd rnd pick could have turned into Aho, Stephenson, Cernak, Carlo. Cause ROR did so much for us.

How?

Myers was swapped for Bogo

Stafford was a pending UFA who was gone at the deadline anyways

It did nothing to secure last. Absolutely nothing

No poop, that’s why I never say anything about that trade and only bring up the ROR trade.

Eichel had 50 something points that year, ROR had his most productive year as a Sabre. Without ROR and a hole at 2C how do we not finish bottom 3 ?

Even with ROR we finished 7th last.

But but we could of used that 2nd rd pick on guys drafted 5-10 picks after our pick that 5 years later we cherry picked from the best of that draft.

Or that 2nd rd pick could of been used on a nobody like Roy who was picked there

sens up 2-1 on the series this year

and that bottom feeder is only 6 points behind us in the standings

you remove their best player and eichel, they might be the better team
