we drafted samuellsson and Johnson
not to mention nylander and mittelstadt

misses like this set franchises back multiple years at a time

(which we can't afford when we're already chasing far more competent franchises)

we have 1 asset (Cozens) and he is a fringe 1st liner, best case ontario.

there's 1 analytics person on staff that no one has ever heard of and came from previous regime. we're a lost, pathetic, joke of a franchise operating as if it's medeival times

- trikkdaniels

Whoa, I wasn't aware that players who haven't even gone through the AHL yet were already "misses".

Thanks for clearing that up for everyone.

And Botts turned Nylander into Joker. That's huge.

It's to bad some of the players that should have been helping this team right now are helping other teams

The Ullmark injury is really a blessing in disguise. It gives Botts justification for another bad season and allows him the freedom to do what’s best for the longterm without criticism.

If he were to sell off UFAs while we were catching up in the playoff race he would have had a lot of people mad at him. Now he can sell off all the UFAs and wait until the offseason to get a better value for a trade.

Long term we need another great player in this draft. We simply don’t have enough right now.

Sure, but ROR is much happier in St Louis now.

HH,

FYI, I think i started posting right around the time you stopped posting under that user name. Any how, just wanted to let you know that I always thought it was hilarious the way you would absolutely annihilate some of the other posters like Frau Kaiser and Sabres Taco. LOL!

However, you were wrong about GMTM. Look what we got now? I absolve you. The list of epic prognostications by the 3ER is long and distinguished, like my johnson. Get back to throttling posters again. Drastically raises the comedic value of this board. Keep up the good work! Free HH!

Dreger said on the instigators that there were some rumblings about Risto.

Just a guess but it wouldn't surprise me if Winnipeg inquired.

- mhp

One Patrick Laine please. I will add:

This year's 1st, next year's 2nd, McCabe, EROD, Sheary.

Botts has never been short of excuses for bad seasons. And he's never concerned himself with the feelings and opinions of fans. I suppose he can start selling FAs at any time he wants, but fan opinions isn't going to stop him from doing that. The low quality of his players is going to be what stops him.

I'm glad you're carrying the flag for this comment. At first, I only heard it online, but when I watched it, you got to see what a moment it really was.

It's the face of an indignant man having his entire Sabres career questioned with no ready response. It was really something.

It's on par with the Rolston zipper

Some people here are, for sure. Others are relatively unaffected and unconcerned about where the team currently finds itself.

Some of us knew before the season started that this was an 85 point team, some still chose to ride the emotional roller coaster amongst the highs and lows.

Some people’s patience have run dry and their faith become nonexistent due to the last several years of losing hockey, which is completely understandable.

Others still have some patience and are willing to let the GM put up or shut up this offseason and see the virtue of adding another hopeful top end talent to the prospect ranks.

Nobody is right or wrong, perception is in the eye of the beholder.

Who’s more talented?

The Sabres or Sens?

Oh it’s the Sabres by a country mile?

Ok then please stop blaming the GM for the players laying a damn egg last night, at home, after 10 days off.

There’s so much wrong with the organization if you think flipping Botterill for someone else will do the trick you are kidding yourself

Hire Jimmy Rutherford as President of Hockey Ops...worked well with Botts, wealth of experience building competitive teams, scrambling the last few years, but always in it.
Perfect guy with credibility to properly set the big picture plan
Experienced in managing Botts.
Would be a huge addition.
Allows the organization to minimize chaos associated with restructuring once again.
Adds some modicum of street cred the org needs to somewhat negate the negative publicity the team has across the league with players.
