Not a huge Kraken fan although, admittedly, I don't care what they name them. It would be cool if they took the Thunderbirds from the local WHL team. I liked the Sockeyes or the Evergreens suggestions too. I'd put the Kraken and Totems in my bottom tier of preference. Metropolitans would probably be in the middle tier. Nobody wants to be associated with the NY Mets, but otherwise it's a fine name.

Islanders need elite goaltending or they are done.

What's to get angry about? Every team plays the same amount of games 82 in the same 6 month period. You honestly think the Isles are the only team with a heavy second half schedule?

Just happens every year to us... we always have tons of games in hand and they have an absurd schedule to catch up right before the end of season. We always seem to have guys get hurt in this insane stretch too... right before the playoffs. Lost Hamonic one year, Lee, etc. It's just absurd that it happens every year.

Have to defend chief. Hiring Gallant would make sense.

In regards to the Kraken name I would be shocked if they did not go with the former team name that won a cup already.. Metropolitans.
