I don’t disagree with that. He’s a real good back up or a 1b like he was with Lehner last season. When you don’t have a good tandem with him the wheels fall off evidently. - Cptmjl
My attention right now is to see what Gm Lou does, I'm a bit concerned that maybe the style of game has passed him by and may not grasp todays game entirely.

Yep me too.
According to Lehner, he was given an "ultimatum" from the Islanders, and they moved on without hearing his decision.
"All of a sudden, there was an ultimatum of a couple hours," Lehner told Newsday. "It wasn't that far off in money. We took a little break. We did come back and try to make it work. When we came back, they'd already moved on.
I don’t really understand what the debatable part is? I guess we should just not believe him? - Cptmjl
Nothing debatable at all. Some people just like to argue, even when wrong. |

I really hope not that’s a Garth Snowian move if I ever saw one. Even if he does come who knows if he’ll be great and by all accounts the kid is wishy washy with the idea of coming here. Too much risk for one player imo and I have a real hard time with catering to an unproven prospect. In fact that goes against everything Lameriello supposedly stands for. Last word from Sorokin is he hasn’t heard from the Islanders in months they don’t exactly seem proactive in trying to get him to come over. - Cptmjl
Isles need a young stud goaltwho will not be tired playing in two straight games. Hopefully Sorokin is the goalie because I do not see any other young options. |

He’ll be giving it over to his son which I’m not overly enthusiastic about. We have nothing to base it on before it being rumored that he’s the reason Thompson is still coaching Bridgeport. If that’s true that’s enough to make me dislike him 😂 |

Yeah somehow from that post you managed to twist me liking IPB out of it. Some other poster posts a blog from IPB with direct quotes from the player which were also on every other islander or hockey blog touching on the subject. I copy and paste them from said poster not even from the site. That must mean I’m a huge fan of IPB. That’s a pretty incredible demonstration of my fandom for IPB. |

The Thompson coaching I didnt mind giving him another chance bc didnt Bport finally make AHL PO's or something last year? But with how bad Bport is doing this year, Thompson run should end |

It’s a joke but you can go off direct quotes from the player. - Cptmjl
In all honesty Cpt I have a hard time believing he had hours to make his decision.
Story I read or heard ( not at a wedding ) was he was sitting on it for a couple days and then he was called with the ultimatum of hours because they were ready to move on. Don’t think Lehner’s lying he’s just not telling the whole truth. Just my opinion of course.
He’s gonna get a nice contract next go round. |

About the scariest thing from today for #Isles
was the third line. On for all three VAN regulation goals and not much ice time in the 3rd. Too much hockey coming up for Trotz to continually shorten the bench.

I think it comes down to if you want a player you sign him. I think we needed him a helluva lot more than he needed us. That’s my opinion. |

Didn’t realize a direct quote was debatable. Know it all, proven wrong still sputtering poop. - TogaIsles
Dack wad, are direct quotes always 100% truthful?
I would love to know the Islanders version, because there’s always 2 sides to a story or fight as it were.
Yeah Robin he’s your offer and you have 2 hours to decide. There isn’t a (frank)ing pro out there that would stand for that and sign with a team that did that . |

Listen I would have loved to have him and couldn’t understand after hearing how thankful he was to Lou and the organization for giving him a chance and that he wanted to stay that he left.
I’m just saying there are 2 sides to every story and we haven’t heard the other side. Typically the truth lies somewhere in the middle. |

All I know is I’d take Lehner all day long over Varlamov. Lou didn’t get it done. Just like a lot if things - at least that’s how it seems to me. And Lehner actually wanted to be here. |

Yeah, that was rumored. But what if we signed Varly and Sorokin doesn’t come? I think we’d be a better team NOW if Lehner were here. Sorokin will come or not regardless of who the other goalie is. Just my opinion... |
