Greiss is not the guy. 😠

He had a chance to be the guy, but blew it. SMH

I always liked Thomas but he cannot be the 1A goalie. Hopefully Sorokin comes over and can be the #1 goalie. Isles need a no doubt #1 goalie.

We had one we decided not to sign him.

The only problem is Varlamov is the other option. That OT goal wasn’t pretty and yeah the other one squeaked through but I’ll take him over our other option any day of the week. Unfortunately that’s the situation we’re in which is pretty much self inflicted imo.

Thought Greiss was gonna go on a bit of a streak before the break but this game was dog shat by him. I thought 3 goals were shat here today
You will get to see your guy Varlamov next game

I wanted Robin to come back but I have no issue if Lou offered 2 years and 10 Mill.

Or he decided not to sign, when given the opportunity?

Dinner at a players house?

Lehner saying the sMe shat now regarding staying with the Hawks. He will be somewhere else next year imho.

Well he said he wanted to sign. In fact he made it abundantly clear. Then he said he was made an offer and was discussing it with his agent then the Islanders signed Varlamov during that time period which he was blown away and shocked by along with the rest of the sane world. That’s all we got.

Also, I don’t claim to be players buddies or in the know that would be you and the other knuckle head on here. I’m not that desperate for people to like me😂😉

Varlamov couldn't have played any worse. Maybe this was a one off bad game from Greiss, but I would bet Varly gets the next start. I've said it before (I know you've said it too), I wish they signed Lehner.

I don’t agree on Varlamov we’ve seen him play much worse 🤣. Yeah 100% on Lehner that is looking like a horrible misstep by Lameriello. Varlamov has a good game than four terrible ones. That’s been the story of his career and why he ended up as the Av’s backup before we signed him. What Lameriello’s thought process was signing him to a four year 20 million dollar contract I will never know.

The whole thing was kinda weird. Lehner got clean played incredibly well. He gave a lot of credit to the Islanders for giving him an chance and supporting him. It was a great story and it seemed like a great relationship - then he's gone.

Lehner’s spewing the same I wanna be here BS to the Hawks right now. If he wanted to stay, loved it here and got an offer, what did he have to think about? Getting another offer from another team? Don’t buy that excuse.

Meh, I have never had beers with Casey and MM so your the players friend. I don’t know any of them. I hate people so I could give a shat what anyone thinks especially some clowns on a hockey blog

It was very strange how things ended up. As much as I hate the Leo and Hickey deals, I think 2 years 10 Mill was more than fair for Robin and cannot kill Lou if that was the offer.

As I said. I ran into Casey and Martin at Champions and walked over and had a beer with them. Pretty much any Islander or professional hockey player I’ve ever met was in a bar or restaurant setting unless at a fundraiser. I’ve also met a couple through fishing. Ive never claimed anything other than a random thing. I never said I was anyone’s friend or going to Baptisms other than in complete, obvious, sarcasm. I can give a crap about knowing hockey players it literally means nothing to me. I watch them for entertainment that’s all not to boast my ego.

Shocking, he’s negotiating trying to get paid. OMG unbelievable. You make it sound like he should’ve just signed anything if he wanted to stay. He was a Vezina nominee maybe he wanted to think about it or perhaps him and his agent thought he was worth more and wanted to negotiate? If they thought that they were 100% correct. If the player is literally saying he wanted to stay and how the circumstances unfolded why in gods name would you think otherwise? It’s literally the dumbest debate on the planet😂

Oh yeah? You think that now? Givemea(frank)ingbreak😂😂😂
Seriously man think about what you’re saying.

We signed Varlamov to a four year 20 million dollar contract and signing a vezina finalist to a two year 10 million contract is perfect. Yeah in some imaginary world that happens. Not in reality.

I do not like the Varly contract either. I just think two years for Robin after everything he went through was fair.

I just don’t understand if he wanted to stay and was given an offer to stay, what did he have to think about? He loved it here. Wanted to stay. Got an offer, but had to think about it? Makes no (frank)ing sense unless he was listening to other offers. So the Isles said (frank) you we will move on to option B while we still have options.

I have never meet a hockey player in my life. Your lucky

It was a (frank) up on Lameriello’s part. I said it that day and I’m saying it now and here we are. You consistently complain about players contracts between the lengths and the amounts. In a perfect world yeah they would accommodate the fans on their perceptions on what they’re worth. Unfortunately that’s not how the NHL dictates salaries. Lehner will get paid by the Hawks or another team. That’s how this works. Your opinion on whether the standard is too high or too long doesn’t validate a players worth in the NHL.

I don’t understand why it’s such a hard concept for anyone to understand that he was negotiating? The last part yeah they said (frank) you and got an obvious, at the time, lesser player for the same annual salary with double the term so who really got (frank)ed in that situation?
