Man, I dunno. Khabib rocked him with a punch and dominated him on the ground. The thing I can't get past is that he has done that to everyone. His fights are not close.

This, Khabib owned him like a rented mule.

It was c’est beautiful.

Hate that cocky Irish (frank)...love seeing him eat fists after trash talking so much.

There’s no point taking this any further if the Dermott Defenders are just going to ignore what is actually being said.

He’s good in a sheltered role, hasn’t impressed when given a larger role. Still young enough that he can improve. If he stays I hope he develops into the player I think he can become, a reliable all-around top-4 defender with an edge. Has value in a trade to get someone who can step into the top pair with Rielly right away.

I expected more from you. I guess the cake wasn’t the only lie.

There's nothing wrong with the point you're making. If Dermott can be included in a deal where he's leveraged fairly to get a legitimate top-4 piece with term that we need right now, that's fine. I also think that a lot of people projected him to be making $2.5 - $3m on his next deal because after the first 10 games, we thought he was going to be great. And now he's struggling a little.

That said, I think at 23 years old and 140 NHL games of experience, starting this year on the IR after having shoulder surgery and been expected to miss 6 months, he's owed a little bit of patience from the fan base. Many of us gave more wiggle room to Nylander after just missing training camp (while loafing in Sweden, ostensibly eating IKEA meatballs) - not recovering from surgery and also missing training camp.

If I'm being realistic, this year has not been good for Dermott, and it lends itself to a bridge deal over the next 2-3 years @ $1.5m where he bets on himself.

Defense and backup goalies are the areas that we have more concerns with. To me the worst case scenario here is that Dermott is leap frogged on the left side, can't find a consistent role on the right side, in which case he still has trade value then, too.

Muzzin isn't even resigned yet.

A lot of trades from here on out will have the expansion draft after next season in mind so it could be a pretty uneventful trade deadline and offseason this year and next.

That was the slowest McGregor has looked and it was because of all the weight changes he was doing. I fully expect him to be better at the stand up in the rematch.

He's always been bad on the ground, though, and I don't really expect that to change.

Diaz got him on the ground in the first fight but Diaz was taking over already by then and Mcgregor was gassed and was up a weight class. Also Diaz is great on the ground. Khabib gets everybody on the ground. No one has stopped him.

Other than that, I don't think Macgregor is awful on the ground, but it definitely isn't his game.

He hasnt been as good as id hoped, but that doesnt mean he wont improve. A lot of defenders take large leaps after the age of 23. Id give him a short term deal and see after this year.

The truth is we are likely going to lose a dman in the expansion draft, and it might be him that gets left exposed.

Ya he said that was the only way he could sign with the leafs because of the 5 year gap from ottawa. Said he wouldn’t have been able to go directly from sens to the leafs because of the rivalry.

Honest question, how many does Matthews have? 3? His 40th and the one last game. Does he have another?

I know Hyman, Brown (when he was a Leaf), ECHL, and Laine have a (frank)ton.

- GreatGigInTheSky

Ya I think he only has a few overall, but he had one a couple weeks ago to complete his first hat trick since his first nhl game.

Projecting $$ for the handful of guys the Leafs would "like" to re-sign is interesting b/c it kinda sets up what they might be apt to do at the deadline.

Muzzin, Mikheyev, Engvall and Dermott.

Good morning, my Leafy friends.

It's time for the Atomic Wedgie Keefe's Leafs Extrapolatorator

Record under Keefe: 27 games, 37 points, 108 GF, 86 GA

Extrapolated over 82 games:

112 points (would have been 2nd last year).

328 GF (would have been 1st last year).

261 GA (tied with San Jose for 21st. Last year, Leafs had 251).

But here's an interesting new extrapolation:

We got 22 points in 23 games under Babs.

So far, we have 37 points in 27 games under Keefe.

If you take that 37 over 27, and extrapolate it over 59 games (82 - Babcock's 23), and add it to Babcock's 22 points, it means the Leafs are on pace for 103 points this year.

(22 points in 23 games under Babcock) + (Keefe's current winning rate X 59 games) = 103 points.

Just giving back what’s sent my way. Apparently thinking Dermott should be able to handle top-4 minutes and not look like crap while doing so is “expecting too much.”

He doesn’t put up points, he isn’t that good defensively, he doesn’t play on the special teams. What is his purpose on this team? When Muzzin got hurt, Marincin was playing with Holl on the 2nd pair, while Dermott was getting the least amount minutes. Keefe didn’t/doesn’t trust him in a top-4 role. And as we can clearly see, Keefe wasn’t/isn’t wrong.

Edit: also, if you can’t handle sarcasm, the internet isn’t for you.

- Steven_Seagull

Your opinion is just that, an opinion. And it's pretty subjective. It's just that it's pretty much the poster mentality for everything the hockey world says is wrong with leaf fans.

I can't imagine the list of players the leafs would have sold off on had your mentality actually been a real thing.

The internet is fine for me, the immature drama queens who use sarcasm like a 7 year old will always stand out on the internet or otherwise.

If they keep that pace it should lock up a spot in the division.

I hope they get Boston. I think they may stand a better chance this year.

If they re-sign him and give him a longer look to see his progression and he doesnt impress, they can also try trading him at the deadline and get an asset back rather than potentially losing him in the expansion draft.

f your dog is having butt gland problems, try adding psyllium fiber to z’s food.
we add 1 tsp twice per day to our 70 lb dog’s food and it gives z a nice, bulky stool and makes z dookie more often which keeps z’s glands clean.
we add water to this mixture to make it more palatable, plus z gets more hydration.
I am not a vet but it has been recommended to me for other GI ailments including this and I found that it solved z’s butt gland problems.
This could save you the time and money of going to the vet or groomer to express your dog’s ass glands.
Make sure that you research how much psyllium you should give your dog per feed based on z’s weight and size.
Adding water is important because psyllium needs that to do it’s job and it will clump without water.
Another bonus is that the doo doo is nice and rubbery and easy to pick up.
Also, Jeffrey Epstein didn’t kill himself.

edit: nice alliteration 👍
