So is Dermott the odd man out when Rielly returns (Rielly-Muzzin-Sandin)? If the Leafs don't have any plans to (or cannot) resign Muzzin in the off-season, you've got to think Dermott is gonzo.

Perhaps ship him and Johnsson out for help on the right side at the TDL?

They may keep Dermott for the year, then trade him at the draft. Rielly doesn’t come back until mid March.

Im a fan of that. Im a little leery of his declining defensive play but I'd like to think that would be a symptom of playing for a poop team.

He hits like a (frank)ing train and that presence would do wonders on the leafs blueline.
