They can trade Dustin Brown? Maybe? Probably? - PatC80
Ehhh. He has 2 left at $6m? Blech. Even looking at his numbers - and I know the team around him sucks, but still . . .he's 35 - he's right on the slope of diminishing returns:
Last three years:
28-33-61
22-29-51
18-21-39 (projected for this year)
If you take that decline and age into account, you're probably looking at:
12-14-26
7-8-15
. . . over the next two years.
They are also not in the position to be trading their 1st round pick to Carolina to buy him out for them! |

i think we need a new 3c.
engvall lost the draw clean in the d-zone that lead straight to the 2nd goal. woke nashville up down the stretch.
engall will get eaten alive at the faceoff dot by the broons. plays like that will sink us against boston.

sure.
then walk away from his arb rights.
don't need dubas getting bent over by ferris again.
"Darren Ferris, claim there are no lingering issues from Anderson's last contract negotiation, but it's unlikely the forward will take a hometown discount this time after agreeing to a three-year, $5.5 million contract in 2017 after missing training camp."
how the (frank) does the guy from burlington take a hometown discount for columbus? |

Josh Anderson is available;
https://www.tsn.ca/countd...f-josh-anderson-1.1433843 - PatC80
I can't claim to know more than someone from the Athletic or TSN . . . but I don't buy it happening in-season.
The Blue Jackets sold off a bunch of their team and lost a bunch of pieces in the offseason and have won 6 in a row and are in a wild card position - 1 point back of the 3rd place Islanders who have been average at best of late.
I wouldn't be removing from this team - unless someone is giving me something better than Anderson that helps me now. Why would I make another team better that I wish to directly compete with for the Cup?
Same for guys like Jenner or Savard who we also like to bandy about as trade targets. |

Can't see a big return for a guy that has 4 points in 26 games and is -8. A seventh and a bag of farts?

Put a Leaf on that chest, and he's worth 3 1sts and a happy ending.
That said, while his value this year looks awful, his performance last year will still carry value - probably also to his current team and teammates. |

Belfour used to be a party animal but 12 years out of hockey and it doesn't seem to be slowing down... a bit concerning. Hope he gets better. |

was curios about Eddie as I remember as a Kid he came out of nowhere as a Rookie and won ROY.. I had his rookie card, was the hottest thing going.
Looking at this stats that year, he was legit.
43 win, not a great stat but still holds up
his .910 sv% was much higher than everyone except Pat Roy (.906). most any other starter was sub .900
The stat that gets me, and I didnt even know it went back that far is Goals saves above average. he was at 44? next was Roy again at 26
even if you take one of the better starters from 1990 nobody is close
also of note, Roy and Cujo were also very good |
