I know, he's been shown to not have a good pulse on value for pro players. He overpays to get what he wants. I don't care who negotiates them, he's the GM and has final signoff on them.

Bingo. Hope JB has learned from his previous mistakes.

I think a fair contract for both sides is 4 x 5.5 . NTC for the first two years.

Three years maximum please. Do not include a no trade or no movement clause. No reason to.

They're actually 8th but they're 14th in GA. If you're honest with yourself they've relied on Markstrom a ton this year which masks some of their defensive deficiencies. But there's been huge progress because of Miller in the scoring department.

I thought the SC Champs had about 5 great scoring chances last night so shot totals don't always tell the story . I think Gauds open net miss and Bo's and Loui's chance had me at 5 to 3 for high chance scoring last night.

There have been a handful of games the Canucks goalie won but it works both ways. How many posts did we hit in the Jets game or against NJ?

This is true, but a lot of work goes into solid Goaltending. In my opinion, there should be no apologies for having it, nor should it be viewed as lucky. Those boys work hard to be the backbone of the team.

All that said, our defensive game needs to evolve big time. Asking your Goalie to bail you out most nights isn't balanced.

He is a top 10 goalie in the league. He will want some extras . Who cares if it one year too long or they don't trade him in the first two years.

That's what I was thinking, blues had alot of possession time but not many grade A chances.

The blues were determined to win this game you could see it but the nucks battled them hard down low and kept them to the outside for the most part.

That's just blind silliness, there's not a professional team out there that doesn't look at the why and how, they dissect film or video on everything. It's only fanboys who say poop like above.

I'm sorry my cautious optimism rains on a few fanboy parades but its the truth. Although they've improved immensely, they have some weaknesses and I'm just pointing them out, doesn't mean I'm not enjoying what I'm seeing...I am.

I wonder if Francesco is strutting around the office now that JV is starting to live up to expectations.

What are you trying to proclaim? The team is good, I've repeatedly said that, the additions of Miller and Myers have helped tremendously, the depth is much better and Markstrom has been awesome this year.

I'm talking about one game, one game, they were lucky to win last night, I thought they played a good game but the Blues controlled a lot of the play in the last two periods.

Goaltending coach has instilled a sense of competitiveness/attitude into Markstrom that he didn't possess before.

You sort of are.

In my opinion you are more of a fanboy than the others. Every win or loss has to have an explanation . Even Marwood didn't complain about last night's win

You were the only Debbie Downer . Canucks have beaten the Blues 4 times in the last two years and have 2 SO losses the other two games . We match up well against them and everything is not luck.

Like I said earlier not for one minute did I feel we were going to lose last night. What you call Luck I don't see it that way.

I did after the way the 1st went. The good thing is we created the breaks we got. It wasn't a lucky or unlucky bounce, nor crappy call that decided the game. It was very well reffed actually.

But I felt it could have went either way. They were holding on for dear life at the end. Very entertaining to watch them bring it home.

I'm never going to tell anybody how they should support their team, nor will label or judge them for how they do so. It's something I left back in High School...gladly.

There will always be people who will wait for failure just to say, "I told you so." Those are the ones that need to rethink life because in my mind it's much better to risk being wrong and have fun doing it. Rather than sit back in fear of being proven wrong and doing nothing.

Cheer's Chomps. Hope you have a good morning.

lol, How about the people that need to validate their statements by patting them selves on the back...e.g. I said 3 months ago to put JV with EP and TJM, and all you guys laughed at me, but...."I told you so" who's laughing now.

There will always be both sides of the camp, enjoy the win, relish the way they played hard after 10 days off.

Good times ahead. Go Canucks Go
