I'd like to remind people that the super draft genius team of Hunter and Dubas traded down to get Dermott and Bracco. Playing the percentages.
Philly was happy to oblige, and drafted Koneckny.
In case you missed it, he was at at the all star game. - Atomic Wedgie
good thing we don't have koencecy.
just another smallish expensive but productive young forward that would be eating cap space to include in trade scenarios. |

I think Debrincat was a bigger miss, they liked Korshkov instead |

I'm assuming all these guys would have received offer sheets, so we would have multiple 1st round picks for the next 4 years.

i didn't think about that one.
we could probably trade for every 4th round pick for the next 4 years with all those 1sts. |

Same.
8-1 Nashville.
You just don't get it Lucas.
Do you ACTUALLY WATCH the games?
I don't think you do.
Matthew's looks like he's going Lawn Bowling.
It would be much more impressive if he focused less on fashion and more on hockey.
He is a great talent.
He can be so much better.
Mind you.
Hi is playing with teeny tiny teammates.
Dubas is such an idiot.
Can't wait until the PC/WOKE/SJW IS FIRED!!!!

I've actually enjoyed the 8 day break without the Leafs...and hockey in general! Nice to actually spend time watching other stuff on TV with your family or just do other things. I completely avoided sports for the whole week. You don't realize how much you focus on a team through the season. - NewfieStud

Dubas' track record of drafting is franking appalling.
https://www.hockeydb.com/...aft/teams/dr00008490.html
If you set aside the Matthews pick (nobody gets credit for that) and the Marner pick (every pick in the top ten - except Strome - is a great pick), then the drafts are woefully lacking.
Since 2015, other than Matthews and Marner, there is a total of 259 NHL games played.
Dermott eats up 137 of those, and let's be honest here, he has a ceiling. And it's not on the top floor.
To be fair to Dubas, there are still developing players. Liljegren will play in the NHL. Sandin will. Robertson will.
But damn, look at the list. It's appallingly bad.

I agree its not great - but its early yet - he's only been GM for a short period of time |

SDA might pan out as well? Maybe? One poster on here, who will remain anonymous thinks Joseph Woll could be a starting goalie in 2021-22, he might become something in the NHL.

the thing is, I have no idea what picks from 2015-2017 to attribute to who.
2018/19 we can give to Dubas for sure |

If they do get a wildcard they are playing Washington or Boston. Does anyone really think this team can win it all this year? They should look to get a return on their UFAs rather than get nothing for hem again. |

I admit
I yelled at the TV and I sent a few texts to some of the links in the organization saying what a huge mistake it was not to take Travis Konecny...they were worried about his health/injuries... |

Good Lord, look at Chayka:
https://www.hockeydb.com/...aft/teams/dr00007450.html
He did well with Keller and Chychrun, but they were the 7 an 16 picks in a pretty good year.
After that, 14 games from a guy picked in 2018 at 5 overall.
Not a single other NHL game. - Atomic Wedgie
and Chychrun was supposed to go top 5....he fell like a rock that draft and was almost crying by the time he was picked. |
