Caufield skipping NHL going straight to HOF. - rpeters01
When is this sniper like Debrincat going to make the NHL and will he put up 28 goals his first year? |

Would trade him for a ~15 or higher #1 in a heartbeat. A lower #1 plus something. - rpeters01
No not yet i think the league caught up to dcat and also i think its more mental right now than anything. He came in and had success early 28 goals then 40 goals next season now is facing adversity. Maybe he is hurt and we as fans don't know or just one those seasons he battle through and be a better player because of it going forward. |

What i enjoy about his game, once he has the puck on his stick in his own end rarely turns it over, makes nice soft passes in the zone if Keith has puck skates to open spot and he also has this wonderful soft pass off the boards to the forward in tight quarters, impossible to defend and he's getting better at it. - BetweenTheDots
Yes, guys that can make trusted (i.e. not suicide ) area passes like that are extra helpful because it tells the receiving player they have a moment to make a play when they get the puck, and they can adjust easier to how they receive the puck, so it adds to much more effective plays. Also guys love playing with players who can make those passes. I think Boqvuist has been a boost for Keith as Keith mentioned how much he likes being paired up with him. A lot of positive effects having Boqvuist being able to hang. |

If Dinky is XeBrincat, many teams would like to try to unearth him from Chicago roster....but they won't offer much in light of his poor performance. Point wise especially bad. A 5akented scorer like DeBrincat should be given opportunity to bounce back. Probably means a different training regimen since he is way too young to have list ability. Actually his poor season could mean he has to settle for less money? Only a fool rusheds out to trade him just because he had a poor season.
We drafted him and he has produced for us. No reason to think he won't again. Just not this season though. I like that he has shown so far he doesn't get injured which is important because you want to rely upon his scoring touch and not see him doing interviews from press box while injured. - jhawk59
He signed for three years already last year is $8m his money is done. AAV $6.4.

Holy poop, sounds to me like Eddie needs to find the “12 steps”... Down the stairs in the church basement with a warm cup of coffee and better get the first three down pat, otherwise he has three choices to make. Sad to see this hopefully he hit bottom here and can turn it around. |

He is still getting his chances. That’s really all you can ask. Your hands do not go at 22. Hope fully with all this time off, he can figure out some tweaks ( different stick, stick length, etc.) and start burying his chances. |

I am moving the guy who can become UFA After next year And a NMC kicks in next year, and the team already had a difficult negotiation with that caused the Hawks to move him once already.

I'll just put my 2 cents in right here - DeBrincat is worth more than Saad and that is with full acknowledgment that Saad is a superior 200 foot player. No way DeBrincat should get traded before Saad. |

While Saad is a nice player and valuable for the things he brings, each GM would take a potential 50 goal scorer in DeBriincat over Saad. Maybe you mean 5o clarify, that you prefer the versatile big Saad barreling down the wing scoring about 20 goals instead of the season DeBrincat had endured. And the acat makes more $ so sure I get 5hat you want to find more dollars for other players. Nonetheless DeBrincat is more highly valued |

Not sure every GM would see it that way but we have no way of knowing. I'm confused if it's agreed Saad is the superior 200 foot player how does that mean ADB is superior? Possible 50 goals, 80 goals, 100 goals, he's struggling to get to 20 how do we know that's not what he is? Doesn't kill penalties can't get out of his own end... We're not talking close to Patrick Sharp here. As for signing Saad, every contract comes to an end some day I'll keep who I think is the better player and take my chances. Especially when I have an alternative $6m to move.

I think he was joking about moving DeBrincat over Saad, I certainly was. They are 2 different types of players and it's not realistic to compare them. The Hawks can have DeBrincat under contract for the long term, Saad has only one more year and will likely test free agency. If Stan has to pick then DeBrincat stays.
ADB may be having an off season but it happens to those type of players from time to time. Johnny Gaudreau has similar number to ADB, but that represents a larger decline as he had 99 points last season. I doubt Flames s fans are looking to deal Gaudreau. |

So the question is who’s more valuable Dcat or Saad? The answer my friend depends on what the team needs. This is whether it’s the Hawks or another team. If you’re Toronto and you had a choice, who would you take? I would take Saad in the Leafs case. If I’m Calgary, I’m taking Dcat, if I’m going into the playoffs, I’d probably take the known vs. the unknown. So who’s more valuable? I don’t have that answer, that’s why Stan gets paid the big $. |

To be clear not joking I'll take Saad and know I got the better player. |

DeBrincat is shooting only 8.4% this season after shooting 15.5% and 18.6% his first 2 seasons. His shooting percentage will come back up - maybe not to 18.6% but at least into the 12%-14% range. He's too good of a sniper for it not to.
He has 12 goals on 143 shots (8.4%) - if had shot closer to his norm - say 14% - he would have 20 goals and be on track for 30+ goals this season. |

The same cycle happened to laine. Great 1st and 2nd years, averaging 0.9 ppg. Then in year 3 dropped to 0.6 ppg.
Fans and media had him dealt...for anything...he was done. league had him figured out.
Now, in year 4 he is over 0.9 ppg again.
D-Cat will be fine. All scorers go through cycles. He will again get back to 30 - 40 goal territory. Trade him now, 2 years from now it will be "Can you believe that idiot GM trade D-Cat...and he scoring 40 a year for &^%$%^^%$ |
