Very true ... we want to have a better team but we all have a different approach on how to get there.
None of us are GM material but it's still fun to discuss possibilities.
I think we can all agree that there needs to be major changes on the 2nd floor ... just as the Leafs did a few years ago when they cleaned and fumigated the place. - Garfield512
so you really are all great friends on the internet?
will fred sit next to obie when i come to canada and we all have beers? |

Fido is one of my favorite guys to argue with, he actually makes sense, just a different view
And I don't agree with getting rid of Bergevin, the only times I've ever called for his head was the Drouin trade and the Price signing.... even though I understood the Price deal, he had to |

You think??
If I'm Bergeron, I'm surprised that I've lasted this long.. - pete26
Right? It should have happened 2-3 years ago but now you've let him partially rebuild it and it looks pretty good so, why do it now? |

The guy they need is Byfield and I don't care he's not the most physical player... but what are the odds they land #2? - obie

oh i forgot to tell you guys i got the monkey 47 gin and it is really funky. very unique. i'm not even sure how to explain it yet but it is 100% unlike any other gin i've ever tasted. black pepper for sure, but i don't think i even know what this other big taste is. but there's BIG taste here.
excellent bottle and label as well.

I've been very patient and loyal towards MB. even after the Weber trade. but when he decided to not finish the job, not trade for a top LD and a #1C, just waiting for kids to develop, hoping it will succeed..... sorry.
like I said, you either go for it or not. you acquire the missing pieces to make you a contender, or you sell and rebuild. it's one or the other.
you don't stay in the middle hoping for the best. 4 out of 5 without playoffs. in MTL !!!

That doesn't sound like a grinder. Too bad Lefebvre and Therrien are gone, they could have molded him into a Tom Wilson. |

Would you trade Tatar for a prospect equivalent to Romanov + a 1st? |

what I would do is very different than what MB would do.
when I say they won't trade Tatar and Petry because it would be giving up on next year... that is MB's point of view, any NHL GM actually, beside OTT and DET.
perso I don't see the point of trading Tatar for a late first. with Timmins in charge, chances are that 1st will never play a game in the pro. meanwhile Tatar will score 25 per for the next 5 years.
as for the prospect, it depends on the prospect. he better be damn good.
I'll tell you what, forget the 1st and take 2 top prospects. that I would be open to. |

You could probably get 2 prospects and a 1st
You won't get a stud prospect though
To Long Island for Bode Wilde, Robin Salo + a 1st
Habs could add to make it work, maybe Cousins or Hudon

It's just a throw in, to make it work contractually, Wilde is under contract so it would put the Habs at the limit, it's depth for the Islanders for the playoffs with no commitment beyond this season
Here's another.... to Dallas for Thomas Harley, Julius Honka and their 1st.... |
