no, my point was they will be a team finishing 10-12 in the East, not a playoffs team
- fidopro

Most likely. All depends on their draft and development. Maybe they'll end up having a good team just in time to move to Quebec.

it starts with the older ones.
in 3 years, when kids will be ready, Price and Weber will be too old.
since we all know you need vets to surround your kids, you can't trade them all. I'd keep Petry and Tatar since they won't be too old in 3 years. Petry is borderline but still. you need a vet d

Get the best you can get with all those 4 assets you mentioned while their value is still respectable and build around our younger players and those coming up through the system.

That's what a REAL REBUILD means ... the non-ending patch job that Bergy & Cie have been doing has resulted in missing the playoffs 4 time in the last 5 years ... with no end in sight for this trend.

If that's not a wake up call I don't what is.

Sorry man but you're wrong.... because of contacts, it starts with Tatar and Petry.... Price cant be moved right now so if we go with your theory where it starts with him, then it starts in 4 years

Weber won't be a problem at all and they have time

They need Byfield, Rossi or Drysdale in the top 10 of the draft, if not.... Drouin will probably be going too, don't you wish I was GM?

They're right there, a few more sacrifices and this team will be on a major upswing

i feel a possible simmering beneath the surface so i'd just like to remind everyone that calmness is very important during trying times. now let's sit in a big red C and sing kumbaya.

Have to start somewhere!

My point was, they might get forced into drafting a winger, its getting crowed up front, especially on the wing

The guy they need is Byfield and I don't care he's not the most physical player... but what are the odds they land #2?

Very true ... we want to have a better team but we all have a different approach on how to get there.

None of us are GM material but it's still fun to discuss possibilities.

I think we can all agree that there needs to be major changes on the 2nd floor ... just as the Leafs did a few years ago when they cleaned and fumigated the place.

Not promising

I'd bet Ottawa takes the Russian goalie with one of their picks, I hope anyway

... and not from another American college.
Timmins must be getting free blow from the universities down there.

EDIT: The Lightnings have been very succesful drafting in our own backyard.
