I think technically he is still a rookie.
Next year potentials could be... OJ, Hoglander? Seem like long odds. - NewYorkNuck
I doubt there will be one. I don't see anyone that's left with that kind of potential to make that kind of impact to be considered as an all star. Maybe a year or two after that though, |

Yup, would be really great if someone broke through, but that's hiiiighly unlikely. |

Say that again. He generates a ton of torque. Despite Leftys big mans complex. |

Benning needs to stay
Let him keep drafting gems
Chris Gear I think has been doing contracts and cap?
Johnathon Wall is doing Analytics
Weisbrod is in charge of keeping Jim off the mic

I think there are lots of potential for complimentary parts but someone else breaking through would be super awesome.
You see most teams that have won have had two above elite players normally. Kane Toews, Crosby Malkin, 3 cups and 3 cups.
Van might have to do it LA style with some cocaine and a few trades that really pan out. STL the same way. LA got Richards, STL got O'Reilly.
Maybe Miller is that guy for Van. |

I think Van is set up pretty nicely. I mean, still a lot of things have to break for them – just like any team – but Petey Hughes as elite, and Brock JT below that. Marky and Bo round out that higher-end, and hopefully a few other guys push to get up there, like Hoglander and Pod.
Chicago also had Keith, Byfulgien and Hossa (eventually), and Pitts Letang and Fleury that really helped push them. |

Agree other than Toews who is not above elite. Disagree on the LAK model. |

I'm not sure what your definition of "above elite" is but since he entered the league in 07-08, he's 12th in scoring in that time. The 4th highest plus minus next to Bostons trio. 6th in even strength points, the "harder" points to get. He's 3rd in the hardest points to get the SH ones. He's 4th in game winning goals ahead of his goal scoring teammate Patrick Kane.
One of the hardest working players for the past decade on the ice. I certainly wouldn't put him in generational but i'm not putting him into a category that could contain 30-40 other players over the past decade. |

Petey and Quinn were both hated on here by the old-schoolers that don’t get the game has moved on. It’s a skill and speed game now, we’ve got three of the best in the business. They look so good together out there. |

It’s not getting lucky if you set up a draft board and pick your highest player at each stage. That’s called being well-prepared. Punks just can’t give JB credit. |
