I never get emotional over celebrity deaths but Kobe was one of the main reasons I got into playing/watching basketball from elementary school up until graduating high school.

I agree, but if it's a celebrity that inspired you then there's always going to be some emotion. I don't blame people who aren't basketball fans for not being emotional. Like when someone posts a death about a country star, I feel bad for the person and their family but it doesn't hit me emotionally since like you said, there's people dying every second around the world.

I am not saying he can't be a good third liner.

Without chasing multiple news feeds, I have only read that 5 people on board, no survivors. Was his family with him?

2 & snippets of last year & this. Not much I agree but what I look for is he puck hounds & always plays with energy. I don’t see his scoring translating to the NHL.

Madden's scoring is absolutely translatable. I don't think he has the shot to beat NCAA goaltending from far out. It's going to dirty areas and collecting rebounds or using his hands in tight spots.

My grandfather passed away last week and I chose not to post on it anywhere on social media, but I share my condolences to the Bryant family, doesnt mean I care more about a celebrity than I do my family.

So you have watched 2 games and some internet highlights . The teams they played in those two games do you remember who they were and who they had him up against? What was their rankings and what was NE rankings at the time. Do you remember his line mates or how much TOI he had ?

None to the above. My focus was glued to him & how he approaches all situations. It’s also the same way I studied as a player in sports. He is self motivated & determined. 2 qualities that go further than skill alone. Think of Burrows.

There's a lot of BS reports and rumours all over twitter, I'm getting different links texted to me by friends. This one seems the most "promising" but then again, that still means 4 other people lost their lives so it's tragic regardless

Its heartbreaking. He had his youngest (6 month old) a few days after I had mine. Knowing that child will grow up not remembering or knowing their dad is so sad.
