Also, where is the NHL with Manon Rheaume? You know the first female ever to actually suit up and play against NHL players in an NHL uniform? For all this inclusion stuff the NHL is doing why not show off the one girl who you can say actually did it. And she’s not bad to look at either. Definitely someone to promote more for the women game especially on a level like the All-star game.

Well, she was on Ann-Renée Desbiens' mask so someone thought of her at least...I thought that was quite a nice touch

True story EK. A total of 3 goals scored in 20 mins of 3 vs. 3 is exactly what what the fans want to see at an all-star game.

I am pretty sure they can now go ahead and start a league and people are going to very interested in paying the money to see it and support it.

This is the reason last night was so import...

I'm sorry. I can't do this.

The women steal the show “ But the quality was so crappy, they had to undress to the bone! To keep the male crowd in the arena”

How about just having a National hockey league? No gender division. Some of them gals could easily give a few nhl teams a boost to their lineup

I'm pretty certain there aren't any restrictions on sex as is. Either no one wants to try and be stuck being the only woman on a team (and in the league for that matter) or the physical gap between the most elite male athletes and the most elite female athletes is so such that it would take a Gretzky-level talent to break in (if even then).

I enjoyed the women’s hockey 3v3 last night, but I feel like the push by all in media saying the same thing “the women stole the show” is cheapening it. It feels too forced by everyone. It was good, the all star skills competition as a whole was subpar. It wasn’t amazing or show stealing - it was a good effort to display women’s hockey and hopefully will encourage more women to play. Quit forcing a narrative.

Bang on! They oversell it, and it doesn’t taste right.

Gretzky physique was less impressive than most of those women. So yeah... if a woman can play at that level they should be in the league.

Yea but the NHL was different back then. If you touched Gretzky, you were dead. All the goons would be all over you. The equipment and training that is available to these guys today, they are in peak physical shape. Coaches would laugh at you today if you tried to make the NHL in the same physical shape as Gretzky.

Gretzky was fit even by todays standard, google him there are pics of him all over the internet without a shirt on, guy was ripped in his prime. The game was different back then so he trained different, but make no mistake his hockey IQ is still one of the greatest if not the greatest of all time.

How did the women steal the show? Did ratings spike during that segment. I’ve enjoyed women’s hockey before but this was just as boring as the rest of the all star game

"Stealing the show" at the all Star game is such a low bar.

The women's game was more interesting than the skills competition.

So was watching paint dry.

The greatest female player of her generation and perhaps all time played in the Finnish Tier 3 pro league and had 4 points in 12 games. No NHL player has ever even played in that league in its history, let alone a player so far from a PPG etc. She also had 3 points in 21 games in Division 1 Sweden which is their third tier men's league. Let's get the ladies to the top leagues in Europe or even the AHL before even thinking the NHL...baby steps.
