If you need an adult to watch your babysitter, what's the point of the babysitter?
- jcragcrumple

More of a discussion. Look at what the sharks just did. Two bad season, rearranged the front office hierarchy. Buffalo, are we up to 8 bad seasons? Keep the same hierarchy... even the leafs ran with shanny, lou, babs, and the kid before whittling it down. And what’s lou do? Goes to the island and has them turned around in a season after losing their franchise player.... but buffalo can’t seem to figure out that a rookie gm may need a little guidance to discuss starting a season with too many d men. Or a converted wing as a 2c or a second year kid that should have been in the minors....

I'm sensing a theme with these 4. They suck.

And Ralph cant motivate Johansson to be a 2C when he's a 3LW

I could have listed another 9 guys though

The only thing that can save Botterill is if his drafts pan out. Next year is when you have to start seeing that.

I was speaking more in terms of poorly run. Think of all those years of bad draft picks and poor moves.

Also they are 3 points out of 9th

- hubie

Well, that's more on the league since they ran them for awhile.

At least Jack is better than Doan?

I don't know.

this team blows. the organization is a complete let down. we are on pace to be 2-3 points better than Jack's rookie year, with a lower goal differential.

"the goal of this team is to win Stanley Cups"

seems more like bottomless mimosas and bloody mary's on the golf course, than a Stanley Cup.

If Ralph can't inspire Sheary, Bogo, Vesey, McCabe, Johansson, etc etc etc

How can one expect him to inspire Botts

unless the millennials on our roster is content to just get a paycheck

- homiedclown

Do we need Ralph to inspire botts or to discuss with him the merits of having too many d men. Or realizing tage and mitts should have been in the Ahl. I’m looking for more of that sounding board for botts. A Hockey guy to say, maybe that’s not the best course of action ...

If you're going to go that route, you might as well fire Botterill. The new "been doing the hockey thing for decades" guy who also happens to be an AARP member will want to bring in his own guy.

bogo and e-rod are still on the big club

the moment they wanted out, and could not be moved, I would have exposed them to waivers and sent them down and called up casey nelson and cj smith

I think so.

The Sabres are in a no-win situation. Botterill and Kruger aren't getting it done right now, but if you fire them, nobody will want to work for this ownership group. The organization has a reputation of being a tire fire as it is.

Agree, and our standards sure are dropping on what constitutes a good player. The past decade has been an embarrassment.

My favorite line from the Harrington piece:

"At this point, does it even matter? There doesn't ever seem to be a real plan for this franchise. It's always about next year. And next year never comes"

IF Ullmark is out an extended period of time ill expect it.
How many games can we score 4? Because you know Hutton will give up 3

Give Johansson a shot

That’s where you have to think like a Pegula. I’m sure pegs is tired of paying people to not work... so to make it work as a Pegula, Ralph gets promoted to work with botts and you bring in a coach that those two agree on... it’d be nice if it was gallant. Or Laviolette. Or... well that’s it, one of those two. Period.

I like gallant because he had success with a young Florida team and he had success with Vegas.....

It lets terry save face that he isn’t firing people every 3 years. And I’m upset with some of botts moves but not all. I think he just needs a little guidance.
