I would guess if they take more old players, which they seem to love, we would sweeten the return. Unprotected 1st. Better player/prospects.

I still don't see any reason for San Jose to trade away a valuable piece for any reason.

I don't see them getting to the playoffs unless they have an "Outstanding" off season. The way Botts has been "patient" I just don't see this team being ready to take it up a notch and competing for a playoff spot.

Our most glaring weaknesses ranked from 1-4 imo are:

1) 1A/1B goalie (depending on the perception of Ullmark)
2) 2C (at least until Cozens or Mitts can establish themselves as such)
3) Top 4 LHD (allowing Pilut to be a solid 5/6)
4) Depth Scoring

Now we have guys like Mitts, Lazar, Ruotsalinen, Asplund, Tage that might solve some of those question marks up front. Pekar and Davidsson should hopefully start their professional careers in Rochester next year also to start the next phase of their development.

I really like Jacob Bryson as well and think he has an NHL future after one more year in the AHL along with Borgen. Samuelsson should make the jump to the AHL next year also and we’ll see what we have with him. Ryan Johnson will go back to Minnesota and have a bigger role and play a big part of the U.S WJC team.

Jonas Johansson I don’t see being anything more than a backup goaltender at the NHL level if not a strong organizational #3 and would not want to go into next year with himself and Ullmark as the tandem.

- Cozens starts at 3RW, progresses to 2RW in year 1, probably most of '20-'21
- Asplund or Mitts grabs 3C
- Johansson is 3LW
- Joker plays 3RhD for a season, moves into 2RhD for '21-'22

This is the biggest misconception there is.

In 3 years, Botterill made 18 selections at the draft, that's on average, less than one per round. Murray made 27 selections in 3 drafts

That doesn't really fit the narrative though.

He traded nearly a full draft's worth of picks for Vesey, Miller and Frolik

2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th.
