Agree completely.

Besides, 90% of the “hockey talk” on here is between kids involved in a pissing contest.

I’d prefer more woodchuck pics and maybe a nice pic of statues pissing water.

With no Olofsson though you almost have to play Skinner with Jack though
- Stripes77

In the time that Olofsson missed Sam and Jack combined for 7g 11a in 7 games (equates to 210 points in a full season). Do they really need Skinner?

Skinner practiced on the second line yesterday...
WTF play him with Eichel.

- Angler

Not directed at you but, if Jack wanted to play with Skinner he would be. He doesn’t want to. he worked on his shot all summer and came into camp looking to be more aggressive with his shot. These were his words. No coincidence he has taken a huge step forward this year into a legitimate MVP candidate and has the same amount of goals as last year in 30 less games playing with a sniper in Oloffson who waits to be set up opposed to 53 who creates with the puck on his stick.

Haven’t posted on here in 10 yrs and will go back away for atleast another 10 but this franchise does about everything wrong not putting 53 and 9 together is one of the few things they do right.

Well there’s enough BS on these boards with out political crap
I’m sure there’s a FOXnews board where your posts will find a happy & appropriate home

They’re far from warranted on hockeybuzz

- jdfitz77

Speaking of Fox News, I believe Sekulow will be up in the impeachment trial today? Dude's cooler than the other side of the pillow. 3ER like thinker. If i'm ever in hot water, not sure who i'd want representing me. Either Sekulow or Jackie Chiles for sure.

Tucker Carlson is totally gonna be Must See TV tonight for me. You're so right Fitz.

Seems like just about anyone can slot in with them
Maybe see if Olofsson can play RW on line2 with Skinner?

omg that monthly burden... you cant put enough money on that. Even at work as a salesmen I get a lot more orders than i did in the past.

For us we have been looking to get into a larger house and under the current climate we can do so without doubling our mortgage.

He is helping though. The Sabres PK on the year is just over 75% (not sure what it was exactly before he got here) and is just under 85% since he's been here. In contrast Calgary went from 83% to 74% without him. I know it's a small sample size, but his PK ability was one of the factors that brought him here I would think.
I doubt that there is any plan to resign him as he will be turning 32 in a couple weeks and doesn't necessarily fit in our timeline, but if he can fill one of the roles we were lacking than I don't see it as a bad move.
Only the tankers would be upset about a minor move like this. Scandella nor a 4th round pick were going to be the missing piece in getting a 2C.

- adambuffalo

You can't have a bunch of young 20 year olds trying their best to run a team. The teams that win have great vets.

A low cost, low term contract to fulfill a role is more than acceptable.

When/if it gets to the point we are out of the playoffs this year,
I hope Kruger experiments with the lines a bit

Put Sam at Center
Try Olofsson &/or Skinner on RW
Stuff like that

Not sure it would work as Olofsson is most effective when he is set up for a quick shot and Skinner isn't known as a set up guy.

Maybe it works bc whoever is their center can go either way with the puck & the defense can’t key on just one guy?

Maybe it doesn’t work
I guess I’m just hoping we don’t have a coach that will again just roll with the status quo

Why not use the last 20 (or however many) games to get a jump start on next season if it comes to it?
No need to wait until training camp to try some different things, when u can get started this season against real competition

That lineup isnt getting 40 whatever points it needs to crack the playoffs.

He probably needs shoulder surgery at some point. Apparently he injured it in the playoffs last year and it's been lingering ever since. He missed preseason games and a stretch in October before going on IR in December with a 4-6 week timeframe.
I thought it was only a Buffalo thing though to try to rehab an injury instead of opting for surgery right away. At least that was the claims here after Sobotka and Tage's injuries.
If we traded for him and he immediately went on IR to finally get the surgery he's needed for almost a year I could see many here lose their marbles.
Good player though and definitely fills a need at RW. Hopefully he gets healthy and returns to being an impactful player.

- adambuffalo

If Mcdavid had surgery without looking at all the factors, he would have likely been out most of the season, did rehab instead and is leading the league in points. Definitely not a buffalo thing.

How much different is it than the one that got 38 points in the first 33 games? I am not counting on making the playoffs, but if we can get to 90 points that is something that they can build upon. Come out with a good record in the the 9 out of 10 at home coming out of the break and avoiding the 6 game losing streak like we had in November and we could have meaningful hockey in March.

They are confirming the same Girgs McAHL on top line not Skinner

People complained about Thompson waiting so long to have surgery and claimed the Sabres medical staff were trash because of it.

My answer would be that most teams start slower than we have done the last few years. Vo caught people by surprise but people know how to defend us now. I hate to say that the season comes down to this stretch of games but it really does.

I would think it depends how bad it is. I actually tried to rehab through a shoulder Injury with a slight tear in my rotator cuff and ended up ripping 3 of4 tendons fully and the other 1 ended up like a half tear, and tore my bicep muscle and pectoral muscle. Should have never tried working with the first tear, been out of work for 5 months know. Doctor who did my surgery at UB Ortho said could be a full year before I am totally healed. Can never tell if rehab will work.
