At the time of his selection to the All-Star game, Freddy was pretty much the only reason the Leafs won games. - GreatGigInTheSky
You're falling for that myth? Even before his struglles he still wasn't in the top 20 for save%
Freddy is the only goalie who can be called a Vezina candidate and superstar with average at best numbers. |

the weakening of the the team by dubas in the off season is why they are where they are right now.
-beef?- - ug0tbeef?
How are the Leafs weaker exactly? Were ther better with Holl scartched for 70 games and useless Marleau getting top minutes?> |

Here is a little tid bit about Robertson. If he was born a few days later he would be in this up coming draft and not last years. Youngest player picked i think, not even a month older then Lafrenière. With the numbers and his play this year, scouts are now saying he could be top five if he went this year.
Dubas got a steal in the 2nd round last year. He picked a younger kid with potential and not just by the numbers and it looks like it will pan out. Think of a Gaudreau/Gallagher hybred if this kid pans out imo.
- Buck Norris
The last 2 top picks for the Leafs by Dubas look absolutely brillient. He got a very good 1st rounderr in the 2nd round in Robertson. |

I'm not going to say Freddie hasn't struggled recently. But I disagree with your statement. Numbers aren't everything. The guy that just won the mid-season Vezina award is 20th in the league in Save Percentage and has a 2.74 GAA.
John Gibson is widely considered one of the best goalies in the league and has a .906 Save Percentage and a GAA around 3.
Team defence matters, high danger scoring chances matter, etc |

I was listening to Sirius at the all-star game and they discussed the Leafs. They basically said Leafs are in big trouble because they only winb when the goalie bails them out.
This myth won't die. Ridficulous. - RogerRoeper
They only win when the play some defense and help the goaler out, just like every other team in the league. |

Gibson though in fairness puts up elite numbers every year. Freddy never has. |

It's odd that their career numbers are so similar then. |

Funny thing is though that if you look at career games for Anaheim:
- Gibson has played 26 playoff games with a .912 SV% and 2.80 GAA
- while Freddy has played 28 playoff games with a .916 and 2.34 GAA
stats and math sure are funny; they seldom lie... |

We were yelling at the TV last night.
P.S. 20 minutes of 3 on 3 ends up as a 2-1 final?
WTF? |

Gibson has been better than Freddy the past 3 years. Those stats don't lie. |

I think someone threw La Chèvre a bone. He was in a commercial with Rielly and Hyman. |

It's 10:45 and Santo isn't fighting with anyone yet. I expect peace in the middle-east is not far off.
Roger is just an over the top homer... nowhere near a Santo-level disaster. |

Yep. With Andersen, he's been off lately, but overall during his time as a Leaf there's a simple way to tell he's stood on his head and been their MVP. Watch the games. |

He did it for $17.43, came in just under Krapisucko's $18.00 bid. |
