wake up NHL!
original 6 teams, put some $$ on the table a create a women league with your own teams and logos.
share your building for a 40 games season, you already have HR, accounting, marketing, facilities for training, doctors...

Yes. They are waiting for the current American league to fold and I really do believe that this will happen. The NHL will step in like the NBA did for the WNBA and it's high time they do it. There are some people interested in watching, not every hockey fans but there are some and with the NHL backing, it will be sustainable.

Eklund: The Women Steal the Show

lol

I think it had its moments but to say it stole the show...? iiish.

Thoughts on this Karine?

- Pat1993

Honestly, to me it was the best part of the evening yesterday. The ladies were really competing and wanting to win as opposed to the guys who are just going through the motions during that weekend. We also saw some great goaltending from Ann-Renée Desbiens and Marie-Philip Poulin showed that you can be a forward and do great defensive work during a 3 on 3 game as well as being a constant offensive threat. I think there were clearly early jitters there and it got better as it went on. Nath Spooner should not have tried to do a la crosse type goal on a breakaway with players chasing her in a one goal game but oh well.

I know, women's hockey is not everyone's cup of tea but I really do enjoy it and I think more people could get into it if they gave it a try. That being said I wouldn't say the event stole the show...

Glad to hear people are appreciating it

I agree there was more compete level then with the men's, which is why I'd like to see teams divided by country for the men too, it could make things a tad more interesting, for what it is.. Watching the game right now on and off, and it's just terrible.

I just had the impression that for some reason the 3 vs 3 format wasn't ideal to showcase women's hockey? Or maybe I was just biased because I'm used to seeing way more goals in this type of game...

I agree tonight's "games" are just tedious...

It probably wasn't but it was a first for them and better than no exposure at all...

could tatar and petry get cody glass + ?

could they get nugent-hopkins ++?

what a bidding war bergevin could create for these 2 in a package.

any contender or pretender that lands these 2 could be instant favorites.

what an opportunity for a g.m. to hit a grand slam.

a trade like this plus all bergevin's draft picks could possibly set the course for a real future.

question is: does this g.m. have the vision and the nutsacks to play in the big boys sandbox?

- rob121

Why would Vegas want Tatar back now?

And I dont think you're maximizing their value by dealing them as a package... and you're reducing the amount of teams you can deal with because of cap issues of taking on both

And why the fawk would you want RNH?

Nugent-hopskin is only 1 year left from UFA, just like Tatar so it’s no upgrade over him and he’s been an up and down player, I’d keep Tatar.

Glass though would be awesome but there’s NO way Vegas trades him. They’d be stupid

Guys like RNH are ones that teams in the Habs' situation are trying to offload not acquire

Tatar (15% retained) and Folin to Long Island for Bode Wilde, the rights to Robin Salo and their 1st is the kind of deals they should be looking at.... Petry (10% retained) and Cousins to Colorado for Conor Timmins, Shane Bowers and their 2nd in 2021 is another.... acquiring loads of good D prospects and adding a game breaker in the top 10 in June should be the priority.... and more picks with the spare parts they have to sell off

I’m up for a load of 1st. We really need to acquire most as we can, specially since next year is a pretty good draft and MAYBE we can get a bigger deal to be in top 3.

As for prospects, I wouldn’t be surprise we grab a player salary in return, like a load-off.

no disrespect to Weber...but obvious the Habs don't have elite talent...if Tatar is your leading scorer that kind of makes the point for what is the problem in Montreal....this management team just hasn't gotten the right players to drive for a championship...that's a problem that isn't going away, even though the future does look brighter with some recent draft picks...new management in MTL is necessary.
