Tatar with Crosby could be fun. - deadpoulet
I really thought Galchenyuk would turn it around in PIT, or at least find some sort of productivity. If he couldn't get it going there...
anyways who would MB be looking at in return? Pittsburgh won't be picking very high |

Galchenyuk is pacing for his lowest goals, assists, points and PIM. |

Calen Addison is a pretty good looking prospect, plus their first... maybe another prospect or pick? Hard to say, Pittsburgh doesn't have many good prospects, doesn't exactly make them an ideal trading partner |

To be fair, it never really worked for Crosby |

my thoughts exactly, there are probably better options out there. Personally I would keep Tatar, but if MB does trade him he needs to make the return worth it. |

It's tough because you wouldn't really know if it was worth it for a couple years... when your targeted return is prospects and picks, you're rolling the dice any way you go in a trade, you look for the best "potential" scenario out there.... I have no idea what kind of player Addison is gonna become and obviously no idea where Pittsburgh would end up picking and who the Habs would select.... but I hear Fredo has a crystal ball stuck up his ass, maybe ask him? |

Just simulated the draft twice, and both times PIT were picking #27. This could change till the end of the season but...
what I meant by "making it worth it" was more in terms of maximizing the return, and better their chances of drafting or acquiring a decent player. They'll definitely need to do this considering their drafting track record. It's a crapshoot for every team but it always seems pooptier for the habs |

Those simulations mean nothing, especially for teams in the playoffs, who's to say if Pittsburgh will play in the finals or get knocked out in the 1st round?
Either way, I think trading both Tatar and Petry before the start of next season is definitely the way to go... but we've been down this road before

ohh right, hadn't considered that. But yeah they'll definitely be interest for those players, now we'll see what MB does with that. I doubt he stays put, wouldn't be a very popular move lol |

If you think about Crosby's wingers, who comes to mind?
Kunitz for sure, maybe Dupuis?
Neal didn't work out, Kessel didn't work out

yeah it's not the first time I hear about guys having a hard time developing chemistry with Crosby. still, I thought on a 2nd or even 3rd line with PP time he'd manage to do more than this |

Karine
Hains: The Captain's Show
It's rare that Carey Price isn't the Habs representative at the All-Star Game but this year, had he been called upon it would have been ridiculous. Instead, Shea Weber, who's on pace for a career year, received the call. - Karine Hains
could tatar and petry get cody glass + ?
could they get nugent-hopkins ++?
what a bidding war bergevin could create for these 2 in a package.
any contender or pretender that lands these 2 could be instant favorites.
what an opportunity for a g.m. to hit a grand slam.
a trade like this plus all bergevin's draft picks could possibly set the course for a real future.
question is: does this g.m. have the vision and the nutsacks to play in the big boys sandbox? |
