They've obviously missed Little the whole time he's been out, put his production in the lineup and they're in a better position then they are now but he's on the other side of 30 and so is Wheeler, continuing with the captain at center isn't really an option and there's almost zero center prospects in the system aside from Gustafsson who looks like a 3C at best.
They need to draft the best center available in the 1st round of this summers draft wherever they select.

There's no way Pietrangelo is signing in Winnipeg and most of the UFA dmen are at the age where their contract is gonna look ugly sooner then later so is it even worth it, could maybe sign Edmunson as he's only 27, he's maybe a #4 dman at best though.

Chevy's gotten himself into a dilly of a pickle with this Swiss cheese like lineup.

According to Westwood on the morning show, he believes that Little is done. If I were Little, I would serious;y consider hanging up my skates. The man has a young family with two little kids and he has suffered major concussions. I was at the game when that puck rattled of his head. Life is precious and I am unsure what he would accomplish by coming back. Plus he's got guaranteed money.

One player that the Jets should be targeting is Sami Vatannen. It would be cool to see him paired with Sami Niku. We can call the pairing Sami squared.

What does everyone feel about meeting up at the Grant Park Pony Coral on February 6, 2020 for the Jets vs. Blues game? Game start time is 7:00pm. If we get numbers, I will make a reservation for all of us.

We can all have wings and drinks!

Do people here want to meet up or are we just talking and not doing anything like Chevy?

Target in a trade as a rental or in free agency?
I wonder if they're not going to want some bigger dmen on this team next season, can't imagine they're going to be okay with having all of Niku, Morrissey, Heinola, Pionk in the D core next season, that's a pretty small group of defensemen.

We can possibly deal for him as a rental, see how he fits, and if he fits well sign him long-term.

I don't think we need big defensemen, we need smart ones. Look at Bitteto, he's big, but not very skilled or smart. I consistently hear he's funny from the saran wrap guy. The only big guy I see this franchise having is Stanley and that is if he ever develops.

Little is practicing with the team and working his way back towards playing again.

Yeesh..... That's all I am going to say.

As an opposing player, I would be afraid to hit him for fear of being accused of permanently crippling him.

Exactly UJ. Morrissey and Pionk are the same size as Erik Karlsson. Niku and Heinola are both taller and roughly the same weight as Ryan Ellis and he's pretty good.

Besides the Jets have limited options on defense when Buff decides he wants to come back next year and take away any cap space the Jets would have.

Chris Benoit was doing fine too....until you know. After his death, it was revealed that though he had the physique of an Adonis, he had the brain of a 80 year old man dealing with dementia. Only so many head shots can an individual take.

From a couple of reports I read, they stated that he had some internal brain bleeding as well. I cringe with just the thought of him being hit.

I was playing with the NHL draft simulator today and it took me 13 tries before the Jets moved up in the lottery. I was able to take the team from 12th place to 3rd to draft Tim Stutzle.

On the other hand it only took me 2 tried to have the Jets fall to 14th from 12th.

If the Jets do not make any moves, I will be playing with the simulator more often.

I'm not too worried about the D core being on the small side, just meant that I wouldn't be surprised if it was something management is concerned about.

I can't believe they even viewed Bitetto as a depth option, there's countless players out there that would make better #5/6/7/8/9 dmen.

Oh Stanley is a bust, can't see him ever making this team and pretty sure I heard he's hurt again.

Also found out the low down on Jake Gardiner.

He did sign for less money in Carolina. He only did so because they offered him an extra year on their deal. He took job security over a few hundred thousand dollars. Essentially he will make more money on his contract in Carolina after 4 years than the 3 the Jets were offering. So this talk about players not wanting to be in Winnipeg is definitely not true.

Your not serious right? Unless you heard exactly what he was offered from Chevy or Gardiner, you have no way of knowing.
What about the 20 other players over the years who took less to play elsewhere?

I am serious. All teams operate under a salary cap, meaning that its very hard to get outbid unless you are against the cap. I have not heard of players taking millions less to play in other markets or leagues and if that is the case, what's the point of being in the NHL then?

The Jets beat out other teams that were in on Kulikov and Mason by offering each more term than other teams. The Jets essentially got beat out by their own game with Carolina. Gardiner wanted term and the Jets refused to give it to him.

Furthermore, can you name 20 players that took millions less to play elsewhere because they did not like Winnipeg?

The Jets weren't the highest bidder on Ben Chiarot and I'm suppose to believe that they were handing over all this money to Gardiner when they still had Laine and Conner to sign.

From everything I've heard it wasn't money that Chiarot left for, it was cause Montreal would give him a 3rd year of term but the Jets only wanted to give him two, playing for the Habs also means playing in the worst tax bracket in the NHL for what it's worth.

This narrative about no one wanting to play in Winnipeg is completely fabricated. Its what True North has instructed the media here in Winnipeg to sell to the fan base. They do this to cover up any errors they make. Because when they do make them they say "nobody wants to play here". Its great strategy, especially one that Chevelallseasonoff likes to use to gloss over the fact that he has been unable to develop the majority of his draft picks. It also absolves him for doing his job.

Luca Sbisa turns 30 this week and is on his 6th NHL team. this is his 12th NHL season.
- BINGO!

You are correct. But coming of injuries and surgeries does take time to reboud. He played 30 games over the past two seasons, so it does take some time to find your game, whether your 22 or 29 years old. Sbisa hits, blocks shots, and has size and speed. I like him as a bottom pairing D going forward.

I agree to an extent. Anyone who wants to compete should not care what city they live in, as much as what the team is composed of. If your priority is not hockey, then go sign in LA. I would argue that not having a state tax is an unfair advantage tho. I mean 7M in Dallas is the same as 10M in Winnipeg. That just isn't fair.
