Semyon Varlamov (23 years old) for first-round pick in the 2012 Entry Draft and a conditional second-round choice in either 2012 or 2013

Philipp Grubauer (26 years old) + Cap Dump for 2nd Round Pick

Cory Schneider (27 years old) for the 9th Overall Pick

Cam Talbot (27 years old) for Picks 57, 79 and 184

Antti Raanta (28 years old) + Stepan for 7th overall and DeAngelo

Ben Bishop (26 years old) for Cory Conacher + 4th Rounder

Robin Lehner (24 Years old) for 21st Overall Pick

Jaroslav Halak (25 years old) for Lars Eller (21 and a "top prospect") and Ian Schultz

Johnathan Bernier (24 years old) for Scrivezina, Frattpack and a 2nd rounder

Sergei Bobrovsky (23 years old) for a 2nd and 4th

Martin Jones (25 years old) for a 1st rounder

So Georgiev (23 years old) is not getting Nylander lol, but a Kapanen/mid level first tends to be the game here.

Could we make that a higher pick by including a slightly used Brady Skjei with enough salary retained to make it feasible? Is that at all enticing? He has struggled after a phenomenal rookie season, so there is LOTS of potential.
Just wondering what you guys think of that, because it's talked about a lot on our thread. But, that is only the homer viewpoint.

The sad part is that the GM Dreger isn't real

No thanks.

We just got rid of a Zaitzev. We don't need another problem.

Lol
Dreger is such a troll

Dubas should find that GM and trade Kapanen to him for his highest offer. Take advantage of an idiot.

- Santo_44

MJ has always been good at talking hockey ..smart guy. I don't always agree with him (usually do though) but his takes are always well thought out.

I thought the same thing this morning when I heard Steve Simmons ranting on the radio about how Tyson Barrie is dying to get away from the Leafs and that someone inside Leafs management told him they are frustrated beyond $!% with Barrie.

Fair enough. But Zaitzev never had a ceiling anywhere near Skjei's.
His rookie season was comparable to Ghostisbhere's. Unfortunately, so has the rest of his young career, lol.
But, someone might feel they can put him in a situation to get him back on track. I don't hate him on our squad, but the next couple seasons should see enough young talent on the back end come up and make him expendable in NY.

That's too bad for him, I'm a fan of high ceilings in appartments.

They are a female dog to clean though.

Good for Skjei.

Just lower the ceiling and repaint ...that's what the Rags had to do with Skjei.

He just says it how it is...You can tell Dreger hates covering the Leafs 24/7 and he takes any chance he gets at jabbing them. Petrillo is the worst

MJ brought out straight facts that Nylander is not a perimeter player and Dreger took it to heart and made up some lie.

And also about Andersen....Is he wrong? Expectations for Andersen are much higher than how he is playing. It is simple math to see that if Freddy played even close to his normal self the Leafs probably have some extra points in the standings. They are 3 points out...do the math.

The D has been middle of the pack, pretty close to where we all expected them to be.

Except they repainted him, then put him on the top pairing due to attrition!

When I renovated my bathroom a few years back, I forgot to put moisture resistant paint on the ceiling.

Let's just say, a few years later, I highly regret this decision.

It has been almost 3 seasons since his rookie season.

Chances are high that was just a one season thing.

Love him! Somewhat overpaid, but that's free agency.
He's not putting up tons of points, but he's been solid in every other way and that is letting DeAngelo and Foxy put up big numbers!

Very well could be, but I'm still holding out hope.
He just seems to think too much and not trust his instincts. But, you're right. The window is closing on him being more than what he is today.

Leafs need a tough guy. Like Martin. That would stop people taking runs and injuring Matthews.

Exactly 1 month until the Deadline, and Dubas hasn’t made every trade ever yet. Fire him already.

For some reason, we lose every Nylander trade ever made..

I'm a fan of Mike Johnson by the way. Loved how he put Andi Petrillo and Darren Dreger in their place yesterday on Leafs Lunch.

Gostisbehere has been awful since that as well. Think they both had lucky years and racked up quite a few PP points to make themselves look better than they actually are.

Was that still when a lot of teams still used 3/4 D on the PP? Inflated a lot of D men.

I think was back when teams would use two d-men on the PP, not just 1 like most teams do now.

Yeah, it really raised the value of defensemen that do play the powerplay in fantasy teams.
